Yep. It appears Arky's ST coach hasn't taught their kick coverage players what constitutes a fair catch and to play until the whistle.

I thought this too. It sets a bad precedent.

Here is a full article on the prep for the play

Please note the line about they decided to use it yesterday because of something they observed from watching tape of Piggy.
Sounds like this one was well planned and executed and would have never been attempted except for already knowing that the Arkansas special teams don’t play through the whistle.

I hope the PR gets blown up twice a game from here on by people who didn’t see the fair catch signal.

I'm not a fan of it either, simply because we've seen refs frick up and give a return to a guy who clearly signaled for a fair catch like they did with Louisville vs. UConn a few years back.
That said, if that motherfricker comes out of the halo after signally and starts moving forward then you have to teach your STs that he's fair game.

Like I said earlier, the whistle stops the play. That’s why they use it. So everyone can hear it.

That guy should have been suspended for multiple games or a season.

It was chickenshit and should be removed from the game. You give yourself up on a punt catch it should be blown dead.

It will be outlawed next year. North Texas has always played dirty football. I remember two years ago when they had a backup DE hit our QB Del Rio around the ankles to knock him out of the game and the season. bullshite school.

Im not offended by it, but I would bet a lot of money that we have a player ejected for targeting later this year because of that play

Exactly. The Refs weren't fooled.

Can’t believe all the pussies crying about this. Deception is a part of warfare.
