re: Vote for best playoff number 4,6,8,12,16

4. There’s a reasonable chance of having 3 undefeated power 5 champions that all deserve to have things decided on the field. That’s why 2 is insufficient. The potential for 3-4 undefeated teams was the only flaw with the BCS championship game. The probability of 5 undefeated teams is low enough that I think it’s negligible.

6 per conference? That would be stupid. The SEC has 10 programs better than the Pac12 or big 12’s 5th best program.

74% of yards gained against Texas A&M this season have come through the air (worst rate in the nation).

The only call I disagreed with was the PI at the end on Greedy. I don’t like the catch rules but I think the sternberger incomplete pass was consistent with the rules and other rulings I’ve seen in the past.
Any plays in particular other than those?

That’s what I was asking about. I didn’t get an answer so I assumed incorrectly. My bad.
Where did you get those stats? That looks like a cool site.

Trayveon vs ranked teams probably doesn’t stack up well against other running backs total stats. That’s a bad analysis. It should be trayveon vs ranked teams compared to other backs vs ranked teams. I doubt you did it that way.
Your analysis seems like:
If you take out all his good games, he’s not as good as other RBs.
That’s a pretty good summary of this thread actually. You cherry picked ranked games, and then you even cherry picked the ranked games where he did bad without mentioning the 4th game vs a ranked team.
Kentucky:
24 rushes 138 yds 1 TD
Classic corndog math.

quote:Did you go through and get the yards per game for every SEC running back against ranked teams? Are you using teams ranked now or ranked at the time?
His yards per game (56.5) against 4 ranked teams drops him down to 13th in the SEC.

OP smarter than Chicken confirmed.
Chicken posted the same thread but with 144 inches instead of 432.

Because they prefer guaranteed money.

A win is a win I guess. Shouldn’t have let them hang around like that though.
re: Post-Week 3 ESPN FPI expected Conference Results
Posted by AstroAg17 on 9/16/18 at 12:03 pm to SummerOfGeorge
Did you do that the correct way? The right way to do it is to add up the expected win totals. So if you have a 55% change to win each game in a 3 game season, your expected win total is 1.65. I feel like you would count that as 3-0, which is dumb.
I hope the PR gets blown up twice a game from here on by people who didn’t see the fair catch signal.

What the frick does Georgia have to do with anything? Nobody is afraid of Georgia. Bama’s pretty good though.

If we have no injuries, it’s a success.
Of course, last time I felt like Bama was unbeatable, A&M beat them. But we’re definitely going to lose.

Actually they would be eventually be ranked #1 in the only rankings that matter; the CFP Committee rankings.
The committee has done a great job of keeping preseason bias out of their rankings, and I believe them when they say the start from scratch each week instead of just adjusting last week’s list.

Banners are cool but have you had a National championship plaque engraved with your coach’s name before he coaches a single game?

re: Dabo on fumble out of end zone call: Kid should have held on to the ball
Posted by AstroAg17 on 9/9/18 at 11:37 am to SummerOfGeorge
One thing that’s pretty annoying is that the 2 closest refs ruled it OOB at the 1. If you watch the replay a 3rd ref runs in from offscreen and overrules the 2 closer refs so the call on the field was a touchback.
