It would have been a far better troll if he said "Faurot Field".

Oh, I understand the thread, but just had to throw that out there because 1980 is getting old and worn out to me.

“Interesting” is such a good word for it.

There’s a lot of Big 10 schools with great atmospheres. Never been, but Penn State’s gotta be up there for big games.

The weakest P5 school that I’ve ever been to has gotta be Cal Berkeley. Cool stadium, great football alums, but half the stadium was empty and their school as fans are worse than just not caring.. a lot of them don’t even want a football team.

Maryville vs Alcoa is full and did not disappoint.

Nebraska was just disappointing.

Doak Campbell is awful and has been for a while. FSU fans are terribly spoiled

Are you contractually obligated to making troll posts? Or are you allowed to simply discuss the topic at hand?

Folks will laugh at this but USM’s Roberts (The Rock) Stadium had a great atmosphere back in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

Saw a game in 1979 with Tulane and Southern Miss when the crowd was absolutely bonkers. Tulane won the game 20-19 on the last play of the game but the atmosphere was unreal the whole evening. Lot of fun.

Stadium is not large (38K) but everything is very close to the field and it can get very loud when they are playing well. Obviously in recent years, that has not been the case at all.

Rose Bowl, truly is the Granddaddy of them all. Setting, weather, it's surreal.

Went to Texas last year and it wasn’t a bad environment at all. People will talk down on it because they hate Texas, but it was just as good as the Bama game this year.

Michigan and Clemson have been the best. Pittsburgh was a weird experience. They didn't even really tailgate much and it was very much a wine and cheese crowd. Totally not what I was expecting.

I’d agree with this. I went to a bunch of FSU games growing up. Even when they’re good, the atmosphere isn’t that great. I like Doak as a stadium and most of my friends and high school went there, but It doesn’t pop-off as a great/loud/intimidating atmosphere in college football especially from my personally experiences there.

This is by far the best HS atmosphere in the Southeast.
