There is a lot of “can be” and “ifs” in this thread. I think it perfectly describes what sets the SEC apart. We bring it weekly.

I went to an FSU game in 2014 against a conference opponent. The stadium was 3/4s full. The student section wasn’t even full. My post had nothing to do with the stadium and everything to do with FSU fans. I’ve dated an FSU fan so I’ve spent a lot of time in Tallahassee. They care more about the pregame than the actual game. I’m not saying all of their fans are like this, but it’s enough that it stands out. It may be the ACC is a shitty conference and quality of the opponents on the field isn’t what it once was.

Clemson back in the 1980's through the 2000's was one of the best around. It's still a great crowd, but it's become more like Bama because of their sustained excellence since 2015.

IBG may hate this, but ECU in the 1990's and early 2000's was as rowdy an atmosphere as you'd find in non-P5.

I went to the Louisville game at Clemson back in 2016- the atmosphere was insane. It helped that it was #3 vs. #5 and Lamar Jackson vs Deshaun Watson.

I worked at PSU for the Alumni Association, and was at the 2017 Michigan game. The atmosphere is crazy... electric. The only time that whole year it felt like football in the south.

Georgia's Sanford stadium

Wait, were we kicked out of the SEC? I figured Mizzou would have been before us.

Clemson's stadium not so impressive. Georia Tech's stadium looks like it modeled after a shanty town in Caracas.

Navy has a really fun experience in Annapolis, only downside is the distance from downtown.

Washington was pretty good, but still no better than like Mississippi State at it's best.

Texas is an NFL atmopshere

Florida State, nobody goes to the games

Va Tech is lit

Michigan, the atmosphere is cool but it's not loud even a little.

For as big as the stadium is and as historic the Texas Longhorn's football program is their atmosphere at DKR is pretty soft.

It is really bad. Great town, horrible football town. The entire Big 12 that I have been too is the same. Oklahoma State, Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech....really bad.

There is a FANTASTIC Beer Garden though almost in the stadium at UT Austin. Its been there since before the civil war....it is not to be missed if you are ever there. Pretty accessible even on game day.

Colorado and BYU have the prettiest backdrops of Mountains

Boulder has a GREAT game day atmosphere....and the stadium isn't bad. Boulder is a FUN town to spend a long weekend in….LOADS of beer and fair to middling fly fishing.

BYU and Utah State are in the weirdest places in the US....great fly fishing though but seriously uncomfortably weird at times...

Missoula Montana is another great one...fantastic 3 day weekend town....good beer, music, football and fly fishing.

Rose Bowl, truly is the Granddaddy of them all. Setting, weather, it's surreal.

Setting and atmosphere are surreal....stadium SUCKS and SUCKS hard! We had very good seats...about the 35 YD Line about 2/3s of the way up...and could not see either end zone. They do not do much to make the experience great relying on tradition to make it memorable....I am curious how Pac 12 and Big 10 fans go back when their teams have played in the Rose Bowl a bunch....I will always be greatful I was there for UGA Oklahaoma but got to be serious, not sure I would put up with that madness again on a dare. Almost impossible to get to and even harder to get away.

Probably un popular but the Georgia Dome was the best football venue ever....it should have never been replaced with that Jerry World wannabe that's there now. Jerry World is BAD also...

It could've just been the seats I had access to at the Georgia Dome but it was PERFECT for football. It was pretty good for Basket Ball too for a cave. The replacement misses the mark by a bunch in my opinion....I know most disagree...Ive had the discussion.....

Went to Texas last year and it wasn’t a bad environment at all. People will talk down on it because they hate Texas, but it was just as good as the Bama game this year.

I’ve been to DKR 5-6 times and I can assure you, the atmosphere is generally flat. Half the seats are filled by the wine and cheese crowd who are there just because it’s an event.

The LSU atmosphere was good, but it was a complete outlier.
