I live in Greene. I would say this county isn’t much in to college sports either. You see way more Chiefs or Cardinals gear than any college stuff. Missouri State is a large enough school to be an FBS football program but no one around here seems to care even with Petrino as their coach. It’s very baffling.

Seems like every argument used for Mizzou could be used by Oklahoma to Arky.

You have played 4 times in the last 100 years and zero times in the last 20.

I had this thought in mind Y’all and A&M play home and home, I don’t how the SEC is gonna have us play y’all and with Texas y’all play them yearly at AT&T Stadium.

There's a lot more back and forth of people between Arkansas/Oklahoma. Half of Arkansas' population probably lives in counties along the Oklahoma border.

Oklahoma cares more about college sports than Missouri.

Norman/OKC is less than 3 hours from the state line, straight shot down I-40.

I'm not sure OU fans will care as much in general about Arkansas, but I've lived in Western Arkansas enough that I've known plenty of working-class OU fans who either live on this side of the state line, or work over here.

It will become a rivalry, at least to many fans on both sides. It doesn't have as much to do with program success as proximity and interaction.

Hold on to that super bowl as long as you can

Wait! I was told the LSU game was Arkansas’ Super Bowl. I’m going to need a way to keep up with the Hogs’ Super Bowls.

I think the bigger question is if they are actually rivals, would anyone notice?

Lol I’m saying Arkansas should play A&M on each other’s home fields and when Texas arrives that game between Texas and Arkansas should be played at Cowboys stadium the Southwest Classic instead of y’all playing A&M there.

Hard to get excited when NDSU wins the conference and national title every year I guess.

I know there is probably more Mizzou fans at the end of the day but you sure don’t see it being advertised around here which I’ve always found odd.

We have a shite ton of pro sports. Arkansas has the piggies and that’s it. That is why you don’t see Mizzou fans broadcasting their fandom as often cause they also cheer for the Chiefs/Cardinals/Royals/ hell even the Rams still. See a ton of Blues stuff out there.

I agree with you on this. I own more Royals gear than Mizzou gear, and probably as much Chiefs as Mizzou too.

I do make it a point to wear Mizzou stuff as much as possible, since I live in KC and have to deal with all the jayhawk crap.

I’ve been a chiefs season ticket holder for several seasons. Makes it hard to go to Columbia on Saturday and get trashed and go do it again on Sunday and expect to be productive for the work week lol. Not many SEC programs have that problem. Several SEC states just have the Universities in state and that plays a huge role. Florida, Texas and Georgia being the only other exceptions. Pro teams in Georgia take the back seat to college level. Florida can say the same and Texas is the only state that backs both significantly.

Interesting that a good chunk of Arky’s baseball roster came out of the KC metro this year. I remember seeing a couple of kids from Olathe, the Shawnee Mission directionals, Lee’s Summit, etc., in Omaha.
If Mizzou started caring about baseball there could be some good recruiting wars to get the rivalry going.

The aggy game in Jerryworld was cool when it was a non conference game but should be home and home now. No annual conference game should be played there anymore as far as l’m concerned.
