I would plan on all the extracurricular activities a city as vibrant as Austin could give than a city where it is the college, and that is it.
Having been to both, I would choose Austin for undergrad.

Id prefer the weirder place.
Because I'm really weird.

Not everyone likes the same things. I doubt all 50K A&M students truly wish they were Texas students.
College Station is more like Chernobyl without the radioactivity. There might be a college there, but it still has a mutant problem.

Everytime I see that video I just get pissed off remembering how badly we sucked on offense in that Florida game that the score is showing on the bottom.
Drove my arse all the way to Gainesville to watch fat arse Prince Hall run back a fumble and the offense to Shula it up the rest of the game.

95% of the degreed posters on here would be choosing between Tech or whichever school they attended
A&M has a higher acceptance rate than Texas Tech.

Texas A&M's 25/75% SAT range is 1140 to 1360
Texas Tech's 25/75% SAT range is 1070 to 1240

Austin >>>>>> College Station as far as daylife and nightlife. Plenty to do in Austin. Not so much CS.
But! Both as academic institutions are equally impressive. A degree from either is a great resume bullet. Acceptance in each are very tough. I’ve said this before a few months back; even as a die hard OU fan, had I applied and got accepted to either, I’d choose A&M/Texas easily. Both are of academic prestige.

For all that you gain living in a big city, I cannot imagine going to school there. Not just weird arse Austin. I could have picked UH, SMU, Tulane, USC, NYU, etc. but that is the last thing I want to experience while living the college life.

College Station is basically Lubbock with a couple more trees and weeds, and far fewer hot, slutty coeds.
