Richt's second year (2002) was no different than CUM's at Florida (2006).....except that Miami or Ohio State did not lose their last game of the season in 2002 and USC did in 2006.
And then there was 2007. You remember that one well, I'm sure (and mind you, I agree with y'all having been in the BCSCG that year). And then last year, you can't really get any closer.
Point being, LUCK is a HUGE part of this equation.

You post a coach vs a team, record wise.
What's his record against other coaches?
For example, Nick Saban was 2-1 vs Richt at LSU, and is 2-1 vs Richt at Alabama.
Saban 4 - Richt 2
Oh, and 2-0 vs Richt in the SECCG.
