Every league should play a 9 game schedule and only power 5 out of conference. It'd be a huge shot in the arm to big time college football. The little guys....well, sorry.

Too bad our rivalry series with Illinois will resume in 2026.

Because they think they’re too good for peasants like Arkansas. Or too scared. I bet Arkansas would beat them boys in Fayetteville

Well, Michigan backed out at the last second or we would be playing nine like everyone else in the league. This is the first time since 2007 our OOC schedule doesn't have a p5 opponent.

This. UGA does our part.
Of the 10 last year, only 4 were at home and 1 was a neutral site (jax).

Nah screw that elitist bs. Scared LSU will lost to Troy again? Immediately makes college football less interesting. And it would kill FCS teams.

Big 10, Big 12 and PAC 12 play 9 conference games. That means they'd only have to play 1 power 5 school OOC.

What the blurb SHOULD have read is:

3 Big 10 teams play more than one P5 opponent OOC
3 Big 12 teams play more than one P5 opponent OOC
0 ACC teams play more than one P5 opponent not named Notre Dame
2 PAC 12 teams play more than one P5 opponent OOC

Kansas shouldn't be considered a "P5 foe" anymore. They've won 15 games in 8 years.

I get it, and agree

but the counter argument is that the SEC has 3 or 4 teams that fall in the dame category

How many teams have played multiple playoff teams the last 3 years? I can only think of one

There's an obvious counter for this.

In 2017, Alabama and Georgia both played multiple playoff teams.

In 2016, Alabama and Clemson both played multiple playoff teams.

In 2015, Alabama and Clemson both played multiple playoff teams.

In 2014, Ohio State and Oregon both played multiple playoff teams.

A 9th game is feasible. You must not be a season ticket holder. I get the possibility of when winning championships, but as a fan I want better games.

Then have your AD schedule better games.

It really is that simple.

Letting the SEC round robin an extra opponent is not "better games". It is the definition of more of the same. (Remember that half of the teams in the league are below average).

No one forced the other P5 conferences to go to 9 games. They should've read the Book of Nash.

I also want to have more games with east opponents. I want to see UGA an UF more than once every 10 years or so.

Furthermore, when you've got SC, UF, UK and UGA playing P5 conference instate rivalry games on too boot ... it wouldn't be cool. All three of them Eastern Division members who are politically obligated, in their states, to play Clemson, FSU, Louisville and Ga Tech every year ... and honestly, vice versa for those ACC programs who play considerably easier conference schedules.

It's okay to be scared. Hopefully Tanner isn't as big a puss as his fanbase. I suppose when The Citadel has your number you damn sure don't want to schedule any more big boys.

Oh, and check any sos metric you like - they all agree USCe has a weak schedule compared to weak ACC Clemson. I guess when your aspirations are making the Belk Bowl every rent-a-win matters.

Who is the third?

I see Texas has Maryland and usc. WVU has Nc state and Tennessee.

Who is the third big 12 team playing more than one OOC P5?
