Malik Nabers had various incidents off the field before his gun charge (dropped).

Doubt they'd like to discuss the granny groping Guice either. And how that was covered up.

Stanford, Cal, maybe Duke, Vandy are examples of exceptions but yea, the rest of us are pretty much the same. A lot of the guys have some sketchy backgrounds but you gotta win so....no one "big time" school is any better than another.

College football is all about winning and winning at any cost. Every year coaches recruit and sign players that they know have a suspect background, but they feel it's worth the risk, if it means they can win more games.
Sadly, college football has absolutely nothing to do with academics and everything to do with winning, period! I was sad to see Holly get arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder, but I wasn't shocked in the least.
Holly doesn't have a questionable background.

So you're saying he only turned in to a person who attempts murder once he got to LSU? Interesting argument, let's see where you can go with it.

I'm saying the OP's arguments don't really apply to the Holly case.

So you're saying he went from Mr. Clean tò second degree attempted murder? Listen, there are so many athletes with sketchy backgrounds that you will never hear about because it's all been swept under the rug, which is why certain players are always eligible to play. College football is one of the dirtiest businesses you will ever find, if you only knew what really happened behind the scenes. Believe me, every major college football team has several players with numerous brushes with the law but somehow they disappear like they never happened! Isn't that interesting how that happens? Open your eyes because it's the reality of college football today!

Players are getting paid now, they can easily change their lot in life regardless of what kind of background they came from.

Parents have a much bigger impact than money when it comes to being a good person. There are a whole lot of rich frick sticks out there.

I totally agree the opportunity is there for them to turn their life around, but so many of them have been running the streets for years and that's all they know. The money can be life changing, but downplaying the importance of someone's past is foolish. Having money doesn't automatically change one's life, but it's what that person does with the money that is the key!
What's that old saying, "You can take a country girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl." Well, the same can be said about a lot of these kids. The reality is a lot of these players are straight thugs and thinking that money is suddenly going to change their life is foolish and wishful thinking. Your past is important and often plays a huge role in what path you take in life!

The problem! Lyndon Bain Johnson’s new society welfare law of 1964 glorifying single parent families. Paying kids to have kids. Took a few decades to manifest itself is why we did not see this behavior surface until late 90’s. Now it is here with no turning back. Many generations with no father in the house. Don’t doubt me.

It's very telling that the constant LSU deflection involves a Bama player who has never committed a crime in his life.
Can you stupid fricks not even think of a Bama player who was an actual thug?

It’s almost like these players are part of the general population.

Coming from anyone else, the sarcasm would be obvious.
But from you…you may really believe that.
