No Clear Winner SEC / LSU

Both sides blinked. There are no clear winners here. Each side is going to declare themselves the winner, I suppose. However, the outstanding legal issues still have to be resolved and player eligibility and all SEC and NCAA rules must be applied equally across the board. We all know that’s not happening now and it has not been happening for decades.

LSU said from the beginning they would follow the rules.
They followed the rules.
SEC threw a fit for optics. Got bodied by ESPN and the national media. Retreated.
LSU states the issue is moot.

You're right, after watching how everything played out, it's clear that the SEC has damaged itself as much or more than it damaged LSU. Conference relations have always been testy, but now that everybody knows the new rules of engagement we're entering a modern era of dirty pool.

Let’s be intellectually honest. LSU did in fact blink when even though the two players in question obtained a court order permitting them to play LSU still did not roster those players. LSU then went on to fill the roster without those two players. Call it what you will, but that was a blink. I do not fault LSU for that in any way shape or form because the program has to come first.

We will know soon enough. I think the one thing everyone can agree on is that this saga is not over yet, nor should it be. This needs resolution for every member of the SEC as well as the NCAA.

I still cannot figure out how there are pros on other teams via TRO’s and the SEC thinks that LSU owns a law firm in Colorado/Texas/Kentucky/Missouri that promulgated this.
There are teams that reached out to Wright before LSU did.
I think you’re seeing retribution for LSU taking Lane from a lesser program and yall fell sorry for them.
Then you saw lane outwork Tennessee for Leavitt.
Then you saw LSU embarrass a program like Clemson and get this new fear that LSU could operate like Alabama did with Saban.
But they disguised it all as LSU’s legal team started this whole TRO business and we will expel them for playing these players (which LSU DID NOT PLAY THEM).
You can prove me wrong. Go ahead.

The SEC is still in violation of the court order by preventing LSU from rostering the players and threatening them with punishment if they did over a rule LSU never broke.

Couldn't these guys have tried to make another NFL practice squad but didn't for the fact that they were told by Lane they would make his roster? LSU about to get sued by these guys?

The federal case continued.. ie...not gonna happen, never was. Didn't make any sense from the start.
SEC not voting to expel LSU.. wasn't ever gonna happen.

The SEC's behavior in this matter has been inconsistent with a tone of maliciousness from the start. Every message has been qualitatively different, with varying degrees of inaccurate and subjective. Making and/or re-interpreting rules on the fly. Conducting an intimidation campaign through the media and the courts? Using a fricking joke by a well known joker as evidence of Loss of Institutional control? The knives are out now; forget cooperation when everybody's watching their back. The NCAA is inept, but the SEC has rewritten the book on bad crisis management.

I quoted you what he said. The players don't have to do anything, quite frankly. The BR judge can hold LSU in contempt because they are not in compliance with the verdict. Which was more than just a suggestion.
Of course, that would mean that the Judge would have to have an ounce of integrity for his own court and stop carrying out the bidding of Huey Long and his henchmen.
