re: Hot take on SEC Expulsion
Posted by TigerChick2018 on 9/10/26 at 2:00 pm to VFL67
I believe from this point forward any and all SEC commissioner meetings should be televised.
This should certainly be the case in the event of any vote on an expulsion from the conference and each committee member should be required to support their vote no matter which way they vote.
I have learned more about the SEC and how it operates behind closed doors during this little scuffle than I have in my entire life, and I do not like what I see.

We will know soon enough. I think the one thing everyone can agree on is that this saga is not over yet, nor should it be. This needs resolution for every member of the SEC as well as the NCAA.

Let’s be intellectually honest. LSU did in fact blink when even though the two players in question obtained a court order permitting them to play LSU still did not roster those players. LSU then went on to fill the roster without those two players. Call it what you will, but that was a blink. I do not fault LSU for that in any way shape or form because the program has to come first.
No Clear Winner SEC / LSU

Both sides blinked. There are no clear winners here. Each side is going to declare themselves the winner, I suppose. However, the outstanding legal issues still have to be resolved and player eligibility and all SEC and NCAA rules must be applied equally across the board. We all know that’s not happening now and it has not been happening for decades.

You’re depending on referees to win your game for you now? At least you acknowledge it. Kudos for that.

Let them be upset. Now that more information is leaking out, it now appearsthe way the SEC handled this is beyond unacceptable.

Like most of us here, I remember the events of that day. Had the US government shot down flight 93, it would’ve been highly unfortunate but understandable.
I choose to believe they died as heroes on that day. Despite what might have transpired and based on audio, that was their intent; that is their legacy; and I for one will in no way attempt to disturb it.

This also addresses the “lack of institutional control” allegation the SEC alleged in its lawsuit filed the day prior to this conversation with Sankey.
Three issues dead in one phone call made the day after the SEC filed suit.
1. Players kept off roster? Check
2. LSU won’t interfere? Check
3. Institutional control? Check
Gives a different vibe to the announcement of a postponement of today’s federal hearing.
Will wait for more information.

So Rousse told Sankey the day after the SEC filed suit it had complied on the players issue and told him LSU would not be interfering in a meeting ….
Interesting how the lawsuit, when amended, did not mention these facts - or maybe it did and I missed it.

Did they? We do not know that.
Speculation is fun but I prefer to wait and hear something official.

I will not be happy is LSU agrees to ANY penalties or sanctions over this.
re: What is this piece of equipment?
Posted by TigerChick2018 on 9/9/26 at 1:10 pm to SaintTiger80
Grok says this is:
This is a Legend Fitness commercial plate-loaded Standing Leg Curl machine (most likely model 3175 or a very similar variant).
You stand on the octagonal diamond-plate platform, brace against the padded section, and use the green foam rollers to perform single-leg hamstring curls. The side handles give you stability, and plates load onto a peg on the machine.
It’s built for gyms, schools, or athletic facilities (heavy-duty welded steel frame, made in the USA). The photo is from a Public Surplus auction listing (inventory #824521), so this particular unit is used/surplus equipment.

Question for Understanding: Conferences and LSU
Posted by TigerChick2018 on 9/9/26 at 12:22 pm
I am trying to understand the pros/cons and potential long-term impact of LSU (or any other major conference teams) leaving the SEC (or any other conference) by force or choice and joining another conference. For the sake of this question I am focusing on LSU due to current circumstances.
If LSU is forced out of the SEC or if LSU chose to leave the SEC on its own volition, and LSU joined another conference what is the long-term impact on LSU, SEC, and any conference LSU may join, if any?
Hope my question makes sense?

It should be but it is not …. One good emergency can wipe most of that out in a heartbeat.

Stop saving for retirement? NEVER!
Today’s prices will never go down. History and common sense dictate the cost of living will continue to increase with time.
$800k is not a lot of money.

I do not pretend to understand how it got to this point. However, to answer your question, what the SEC has done is the equivalent of someone holding a pew pew to the head of LSU (or insert any other university name). That is not okay.
At this point, the SEC has pushed this too far.
1. The issues need to be clearly defined.
2. The issues need clear resolution so this does not happen again to any other university or any other conference.
3. If the SEC has abused its position and perceived authority that needs to be determined.
4. If LSU or any other university has violated SEC rules that needs to be addressed also.
5. Most importantly, rules need to be applied equally across the board. That has not happened during the entirety of the SEC history.
My $.02. Keep the change.
