Nick's Real Concern

IF Saban sees NIL as the ultimate key to success on the football field, he certainly realizes that A&M can outspend Alabama. If he thinks A&M has money, he also understands that Texas can match the Aggies dollar for dollar. Not the parity Saban is looking for.

All of those Alabama churches can't hide the kind of money that is out in the open in Texas.

Saban is right about the fact that litigation is hurting the college game. I do agree with the fact that companies should not be able to use the name and images of college athletes with impunity. I do not buy into the argument that these athletes get nothing. I paid my way through LSU. Many athletes get free schooling, free health care, free meals, free lodging, preferential scheduling, etc. Honestly, that should suffice.

My prediction, he will resign amidst the new changes in college sports.

Along with programs like Texas, USC and Ohio State.

This is pretty much exactly right.
Saban wants everyone to accept the level of cheating that he does...while rejecting the level of cheating that A&M has done under the new system.
It's true hypocrisy.

First off you should have to have played a year in college to get any NIL deal. Second they should have set a limit like 100k a year. Guys getting 300k and have never played a college down how do you justify name and likeness when they haven't done anything.

Saban I think is trying to say is that bama didn’t promise any incoming freshman money through nil deals like Texas a/m did.
That’s what I read into it- I could be wrong.
I think it’s still hypocritical

Or OKlahoma once they get organized.

Well I am sure Saban gave some money to incoming freshman or at least promised some as probably 40 of the biggest college football teams do. NCAA should have thought this thru play a year get a deal just limit the amount to 100k or 150k a year thats a lot of bank while getting everything free in college.

quote:stop spreading this myth. The university of Texas is part of the state system and they simply cannot spend money the same as a&m. you people need to know what you are talking about before you actually spout crap. you people simply don't understand how things flow. Texas would still be on top if they could spend it easily.
, he also understands that Texas can match the Aggies dollar for dollar.

You understand that the NIL $ is coming from alumni/boosters, right? The fact that UT is a public university has nothing to do with it. It’s about the alumni base and the amount of wealth they have and are willing to contribute(pay) the players.
