It went from saban would've been a Super Bowl coach had he stayed to saban would have been a Super Bowl coach had he stayed and gotten Brees.
Saban's decision not to sign Brees so it wasn't some unfortunate events that left him with his situation. There's absolutely nothing that saban has done to prove that he would have been sucessful in the NFL.

Alabama had to see to it that Saban will never win a Super bowl.

1) he said that because Louisiana residents melt like no other and
2) right now even a combo of Payton/Brees can't beat the worst Falcons team in recent memory so I don't see Saban changing that

Saban wanted Brees, the GM nixed the deal.

No he wouldn't have. The one thing Carroll has over Saban is that he's a far superior evaluator of talent especially at the QB position. Saban left the Dolphins roster in rotten shape because his drafts were terrible. He would have only succeeded as a pro coach if he went to an organization with a good GM in place to make all the personnel decisions.

He made the right move, never would have won a super bowl and he new it.

When Saban coaches at schools like LSU and BAMA where 5* recruits beat the door down to get in, he is a winner. Give him a job where the players talent level doesn't heavily sway in his advantage like at Miami, and well you know how that worked out..

Saban's a great coach, but it's still pure speculation.

He sucks when playing level competition on a week to week basis.

Saban's greatest attribute is recruiting. I think he's also very good X's and O's and player development but why stay in the NFL when your best strength is not needed.

Look at LSU and Bama recruiting before he got there. Kids don't just show up there to play. Recruiting is part of CFB and tell me one team/coach who wins NCs and SECs with average players?

You actually shoul go look at recruiting before Saban was at LSU. LSU always has recruited well.
And do you even remember any former players on Bamas roster pre Saban? Y'all have always recruited well, too. Saban just knows how to go from recruiting well, to recruiting the best. But both schools have always attracted talent.

Yes, we'll all assume with you that Saban would have been a Super Bowl regular while playing in the same division as New England.

This article is total bullshite. Why even write it?
It's Kevin Scarbinksy.
He's the guy al.com got to come in when Paul Finebaum was on his way to no longer writing opinion pieces for the Birmingham News. In other words, he's Finebaum's second-string replacement. His sole purpose in writing seemingly anything is simply to generate page views for al.com.
Just ignore him. It's better that way.
