And now you’re crying

Stop comparing and just go play. As long as you win it shouldn’t matter.

Am I doing this right?

I don’t know why he’s complaining tho he whoops those three teams pretty consistently.

Exactly

I don’t know why Nick is complaining.

I was merely explaining Saban’s rationale. Which I would assume even a failed public defender could get.

Why would you assume a public defender gives a shite about college football?

A&M isn’t getting Texas, are they?
Yes. As long as it is the 3-6 format, A&M and Texas will be permanent opponents. Now, one twist, if LSU is indeed matched up with Bama, A&M, and Ole Miss, that makes it highly likely that the LSU-A&M game will remain on the final weekend, and that A&M-Texas will be played some other time. Unless we somehow end up with four teams with no permanent rivalries on that final weekend, then everyone has to play a permanent rival (or out of conference opponent) the final weekend. Since Bama and Ole Miss are locked down that weekend, then A&M would have to keep playing LSU, unless the league decided that OU, Arkansas, Missouri, and LSU should have no permanent rivals that weekend and rotate.

So their fans have been singing about Tennessee Auburn and LSU in Dixieland delight for a long time. That’s obviously the three teams they care about the most.

Meh,
Bama still mentions UGA in the fight song and right now the teams you mentioned are not the main 3. The main 3 right now are Auburn (just because), UT( just because) and Georgia who is a juggernaught right now. LSU beat Bama last year but..whatever. UGA is the main obstacle now outside of just the pride factor of needing to beat Aubie and the Vols.

This is an article by Ross Dellenger who is a Huge LSU guy.

Only LSU fans have lamented the fact that Bama plays them every year.

bullshite. We objected to playing Florida every year while Alabama got Tennessee every year because of the sacred Alabama-Tennessee series. It was a competitive disadvantage for LSU for much of the 2000s and 2010s in the division race because Florida was good and Tennessee sucked. Don’t be intellectually dishonest.

Now that Tennessee is good, Saban cries foul. Tough shite.

I like the LSU-Alabama game being played every year. I hope it stays an annual series. I care less about playing Texas A&M, and I’d rather keep Florida under that scenario. Let A&M go play someone else from the Big 12 wing of the league.

When we all ended up with one perm opponent from the other division they made the Big Six all play the Big Six. It was an equitable solution. Talk about intellectually dishonest

MSU should be Bama's third opponent, not LSU.

If it ends up being what Dellenger posted recently then Alabama would be the only team out of 16 that has all 3 permanent opponents from the Big 6 + Texas/OU. It's pretty reasonable to throw out a WTF to that.

I'd prefer he not say anything, though. You rotate everyone else every 2 years, so it isn't a huge deal. Plus, just beat the shite out of whoever is across from you.

It's obvious that ABC/ESPN is pushing the SEC for Alabama-LSU but that so-called "rivalry" only remains compelling while Saban is in Tuscaloosa. As soon as he retires, it goes back to just being a typical SEC game that no one really looked forward to until 2007.

I disagree with this. While LSU is not one of Alabama's closest rivals, the two teams, along with Auburn, have more often than not been front runners in the SECW. Those types of match ups draw viewers. Who looks forward to Bama vs. State outside of their own fan bases?

You could make that argument for the 3rd game for almost everyone in the league if Dellenger's "from inside sources guesses" post is right. 15 of the 16 teams will have at least one of those games.

- LSU vs Ole Miss

- Auburn vs Vanderbilt

- Texas vs Arkansas

- Oklahoma vs Missouri

- Tennessee vs Vanderbilt

- Georgia vs Kentucky

- Florida vs South Carolina

The schools and the conference are already having back channel discussions. Nothing will be official until the spring meeting.

See if you can get a call in to Coach Saban and ask him.

Apparently, he's the only SEC HC the conference planners are consulting with on this. For whatever reason he's the only one voicing his opinion on any of this. Why haven't we seen Kelly, Freeze, Fisher, Smart, Heupel, Kiffin, Pittman's opinion on their permanent matchups?

Judging by his comment...they're not consulting him, just telling him.

UT/LSU/AU would be a tough set of permanent opponents, tougher than many other teams will be paired with I’m sure. But that’s the price of being Bama, those games make the money for the conference.

Then Bama should get a bigger cut of the revenue if we're carrying more weight during those media contract negotiations. Either be fair with the scheduling or pay up. Bama has pretty much carried the SEC for a century and everyone knows it.
