#Nasty #OrangeSwarm #ShoopThereItIs

2016 returnees:

965 Career tackles
107 TFLs
43 Sacks
18 INTs
55 PBUs

9 of 11 starters return. Add Rashaun Gaulden who was going to start before he was hurt in fall camp as well as the #1 incoming DB class in America. Former 5 stars McKenzie and Phillips are mere backups and will be sophomores. 5 star DE King Kongbo added to the rotation as end as well along with former 4 stars Darell Taylor and Andrew Butcher who redshirted last year.

IF someone scores more than 20 points on us in a game the whole season, I'll be shocked.

They should be pretty good. Especially if their offense can keep them off the field ... which they should be able to with the QB returning.

Guys like former top 100 recruit Dillon Bates are backups in this defense.

Offense also returns 9 of 11 starters. Really 10 when you one of the OL was essentially benched for a freshman the last few games of last year.

Tennessee should be really good next year.

However, this:

isn't a realistic expectation these days. With the game/rules titled towards the offense along with diversity of offenses you face over the course of a season, even the really good defenses almost always have a couple of games where they struggle.

Tennessee has absolutly no excuses this year, though Butch will still find a way to lose games

Okay, well maybe I could see when the Vols win a game like 56-21 and give up a garbage TD at the end of the game.

The odds are better that UT will average 20 or more given up per game than the odds that not one team will score 20 or more on them.

Have you seen the offenses they will be facing in the East?

Good point. The offenses of the east look to be pretty bad again and their out of conference schedule is really easy too. Tennessee is set up pretty perfectly this year. If Butch blows this, he should be gone.

They only gave up 20.0 per game last year, return nearly everyone, add more highly ranked recruits, and add a better defensive coordinator. Try again.
