For Mizzou, I see Arkansas (new rival) Oklahoma (old rival) and Vanderbilt (proximity)

I doubt the Arkansas/Missouri game will change. Both schools probably don't want to change it.

I can assure you that Arkansas would rather have LSU or Texas during rivalry week. We weren’t the one that wanted the LSU game moved in the first place. If there’s an opportunity to get Texas or LSU in that spot going forward, we’ll take it. That’s 100% fact.

Another version I kinda like which kind of puts a lot more of the experimental mixing and matching on pairing the northern and western outlying schools (Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kentucky)

Alabama: Auburn, Miss State, Tennessee
Arkansas: LSU, Missouri, Texas
Auburn: Alabama, Florida, Georgia
Florida: Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina
Georgia: Auburn, Florida, South Carolina
Kentucky: Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee
LSU: Arkansas, Ole Miss, Texas A&M
Ole Miss: LSU, Miss State, Vanderbilt
Miss St: Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M
Missouri: Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma
Oklahoma: Kentucky, Missouri, Texas
South Carolina: Florida, Georgia, Vanderbilt
Tennessee: Alabama, Kentucky, Vanderbilt
Texas: Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M
Texas A&M: LSU, Miss State, Texas
Vanderbilt: Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee

I think Texas would rather have the aggies as the last game of the year than Arkansas.

Arkansas may not wanted the LSU game moved but LSU doesn't care for the game as much as Arkansas. So they didn't fight to keep the game as is.

Sam wants Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri.

Which means LSU is available.

No offense to Sam but he shouldn’t be the one guiding the decision. Whatever we get is going to be in place past his time here.

LSU could be available but they didn't to fight very hard to keep the Arkansas/LSU as the last game of the year for both schools.

Like it or not it is very likely Arkansas will get Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri.

I don't know why anyone would be against having those three.

Thanks for posting, with more lurkers would chime in and subdue the trolls

You are welcome. It is posted as Utx - autism because TU (even lowercase) means Tulane University and a fallen brother of old. Tulane annexed Sophie Newcombe (they have hot women0, Gave us the Sugar Bowl, and helped define early SEC football before Bernie went to the Gophers and won multiple Natty's. While no longer a member they are still dear to some of us old enough to remember.

I agree with
Arkansas
LSU
Utx - autism for TAMU

If this was the old SEC that would be what you probably got

The only issue with your post, is this.

2) Mississippi State

Anybody would be lucky to get State
+ lots of catfish farms close by
+ good people
+ good manners

I know folks rag on Starkville but screw them, it is a good place. They manage the cowbells at games and you can always bring earmuffs. Small price to pay for a good experience.

Hope whoever you get, the games will be good.

I'm hoping that Arkansas and Texas play the final weekend, because I want Texas to come to College Station while school is in session. College Station becomes a ghost town when school is out, and virtually no one has class Thanksgiving week anymore. Back in the old days, A&M students would stick around for a Thursday Texas game because they had class Monday through Wednesday, and bonfire on Wednesday night. Maybe we'd play Texas on a Saturday if we played the final weekend, but I'm afraid that we'd give into the nostalgia temptation and play on Thanksgiving, which would suck. LSU has no interest in a Thursday game, so I'd rather keep them the final weekend and play Texas some other time.

Why is 3 the number? Why not 4 or 2? I am curious who will get to keep their biggest 3 rivals because most will not. I don't even think UF keeps 2, and if that is the case I am going to spearhead running Scott Stricklin out of town on a rail.

They are using 3, because it allows the 6/6 rotations to have everyone play everyone else in a 4 year span. Both 2 & 4 leave an odd number of teams remaining, so that the schedule would not balance year-to-year.

Hope that helps.

For LSU:
Texas A&M is all but confirmed.
Ole Miss is highly likely.
Arkansas or Oklahoma will likely be the remaining team, depending on how the SEC wants to deal with Thanksgiving weekend games. If they want to leave the door open for Bedlam to continue and Mizzou to restart their game with Kansas, LSU will get Arkansas. If the Arkansas PTB want to keep Mizzou on that weekend, LSU will get Oklahoma. Keeping the Florida game would be nice, but the troubles of working out LSU's Thanksgiving weekend game will likely prevent it from happening.

I don’t think anyone is against it necessarily but we have significantly more history with Texas, LSU, Texas A&M and Ole Miss so I and most others would rather see our 3 come from that pool

I like it because it would be much cheaper on expenses and shorter travel for fans.

Oklahoma and Arkansas games I will tell you this would be much more heated than the Ole Miss and LSU games. Simply because of the interactions between both fans.

I don't care for LSU because they never saw and never see Arkansas as a big game like they do with Bama. I believe for years they wanted to get out of it and saw A&M as an excuse. This is why they didn't fight with Arkansas to keep the game as is.

I don't care for A&M because I see them as harmless unlike Oklahoma or Texas. So it makes it hard to hate them.

Ole Miss is more invested in the Arkansas/Ole Miss games than LSU. But I don't believe they will fight hard enough to have Arkansas as one of the three permanent opponents.

I would like to have the LSU game after Thanksgiving back but I just don't think the LSU brass really cares and they didn't seem interested in keeping the games as is.

Auburn- Bama and Georgia are locks.

Opponent number 3 is a tossup. I am going with these odds:

40%- Vandy
30%- SC
10%- MSU, UF, LSU

Can’t agree with the odds there. I would say:

MSU - 40%
UF - 30%
OM/Vandy- 15%

LSU needs to pick up Tulane again as the last game of the year. Tulane has become legit again.

Oklahoma could keep OK State as their rival game.

Then it all sorts itself out.

Arky-Mizzou
A&M-TX
OK-OKST
LSU-Tulane
State-OM
Bama-AUB
FL-FLST
GA-Tech
SC-Clemson
UK-LOU
Vandy-Tenn

That solves rivalry weekend.
