With one administration how long before Saban has his group running things?

Office is in Birmingham. Like Flint.

Looks like the teams left out would be the basketball group ? You left out basically all of the top basketball programs. We should go to 5 conferences with all 5 conference champs and top 3 non champs making the playoffs. I maybe in the minority but I want more basketball power houses in the conference if we add more schools.

If you want to drastically change the set up for college football then the best option would be setting up a relegation league system. Blue bloods get to play blue bloods as long as they keep winning while the now lower tier teams get what they’re constantly striving for, a seat at the table if they just keep winning for long enough.

How else am I supposed to chant SEC after Bama wins again?

You could have a 16-team playoff at the end of the season which would be huge for TV Ratings. Therefore, with the extended post-season, shrink the regular season down to just 11 games.

16 team playoff? With 40 teams?

So every year 40% of the teams make the playoffs.... and I would imagine some with losing records....

No thanks.....

it would be like the NCAA but smaller and no conferences. With one governing body

I’ll get onboard IF we can put the governing body in Birmingham. Just to troll LSU fans.

The Top 40 programs should breakaway and as a group have one administrative body rather than five... that saves 80% of the money that is currently doled out to each of the Power 5 conference offices. I

Where are you getting this 80% figure?

The vast majority of $500 million CFB playoff money goes to P5 schools as does the regular season TV revenue.

Why would the SEC and BIG want to split/share TV revenues with the Pac 12 and ACC? Makes zero sense.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out when the streaming industry gets involved which is not very long coming.
I have read that it is a possibility that a lot of the major schools could break away from the NCAA and directly negotiate a deal with the streaming companies.

If that did happen I am not sure if the conference format would remain or not.

Fresh and innovative approach. No one has suggested an NFL like super conference approach before ever.

If you want that they already have a team you can follow called the Atlanta Falcons. Not sure why people that claim to be College Football fans are in such a rush to change it to the NFL.

This doesn't make much sense because as said it's just like leagues and by "choosing" a theoretical top 40 school you are still going to have problems with schools going totally crazy being left out of this "top flight".

Just glancing at your list and knowing football history...you leaving Pitt out, with more than 10 national titles would cause a stir.

I could say similar with Minnesota though they have been weak in many years, but crap between 7 or 9 natty's depending on who you listen to.

Either way...you can see you will have a flawed plan unless your ready to go to something like European soccer where if you aren't performing you drop down to group 2. Now, that would be excellent...3 groups, you go up and down depending on your success levels. You win in Level 2, congrats you move up to take the place of teams that are failing in level 1. Same for Level 3 <--> Level 2.
