The can have it now.
Nashville would be much preferred. If it doesn't go to a rotation, Nashville would be the perfect spot. More centrally located and almost certain to have no home field advantage for TN schools.
ATL sucks.

This a 60,000 seat stadium. The average attendance at the SEC Championship game is around 75,000. The average face value of a ticket is around $200 I believe. That's $3M lost in ticket sales
So they just need to squeeze $50 avg per person buying higher priced food/drinks and raised tix proces to cover difference. Not that hard actually

Hot take as a born and raised Nashvillian and Tennessee fan myself: we already have the SEC basketball championship. I’m cool with ATL retaining the football championship since it’s tradition. Obviously I will not be complaining though if Nashville gets on the SEC football championship rotation.
I think if anything it would be cool if the Music City Bowl became a CFP game somehow under the new expanded CFP format. Nashville will no doubt be getting the Final Four soonish as well

I do however very much think the SEC headquarters needs to ditch Birmingham and relocate to Nashville

RIP Atlanta SEC title game
90% of the fans in the SEC wont ever get to go anyway so who cares now. When the SEC moves away from divisions the SEC Title game will evolve into the same 3-4 teams for a decade at a time. Being able to play your way in to it via divisions is gone.
There are many on here that are lauding the new format but after a few yrs you will not like it. Case in point, LSU would not have made the SEC Championship last season if divisions were gone.

Not to belabor too fine a point but the stadium is West End, it’s not “downtown”. That area has been turned over the last 5-10 years. There are no less than 100 restaurants and 20k hotel rooms within 3/4 mile walk of the stadium. And yes it’s less than a half mile from midtown. I lived in the area. I didn’t hesitate to walk the streets at night and it was far less safe then than now. And If you are looking to tailgate green space absolutely matters.
But I’m sure you’ve got a better bead on it than conference leadership who’s elected to hold it there for 31 years consecutive now through two different stadiums. It’s such a bad location CFB put its hall of fame there. 3 professional sports teams play there. It’s such a bad location the World Congress Center attached to the Benz hosts roughly 230 events and 5 million people/year.
Airports don’t become busy because they suck. They are busy because they are efficient, logistically favorable, and capable of handling travelers (93+ million per year) and at a baseline there is a substantial need/desire for people to be there.

This is wonderful news. Nashville's stadium is a much better location for fans. Atlanta's stadium has too much ghetto nearby. All I can do there is go eat at Chick-fil-A inside the CNN Center.
Been to a lot of SECCG. It’s totally fine immediately around the stadium. I don’t know what you’re talking about. Went to this Biergarten the last time I went to one.

That’s cool. Happy to win championships there too

Had a dinner at the CFB HOF when I went to a conference last fall. I really enjoyed it. It’s pretty neat to see some of the trophies and memorabilia up close. A few of the trophies are from the Bryant Museum loaned out to the HOF because I guess we ran out of room in Tuscaloosa.

Lol sure it would go to a city every once in a while but here are the facts.
It used to always be in Atlanta and rotate to a city every once in a while.
The SECC in basketball has been in Nashville since 2013 except for 3 years (2014,2018,2022). It remains in Nashville now until 2030 with an option to extend until 2035. 15 out of 18 years it’s in Nashville and if option is exercised it will be in Nashville 20/23 years.
Again the SECC will come to Nashville a lot in football. Nashville is booming, a lot to do and you are safe in Nashville. Nobody is safe in Atlanta. It’s the liberal capital of the south. Place needs to burn

Two totally different things. BBall tourney is over several days and Nashville is suited for that.
And I just got back from a trip to Nashville. Bums and freaks everywhere. It aint what it was 10-15 years ago.

That's not how it works. The ACC doesn't have that leverage at all.

would love to see the title game moved around
A homeless/rotating championship is Busch league - see ACC’s disastrous championship games. They have to move theirs around because Atlanta is already taken on championship Saturday.
