They jumped previously unranked SMU over Liberty.

Yeah, that did not work either.

What a joke of a ranking. How can you justify bumping Texas to 3 over FSU? How?

It makes no sense at all.

ESPN’s SOR got it correct. 1 Mich 2 Wash 3 FSU 4 Bama. Texas didn’t do anything to jump all the way from 7. It’s illogical to base a team’s entire ranking on one head to head reg season game.

The AP is a bunch of f*** boys pandering to the outraged mob.

I’m sure you would have given up your playoff spot if a 2-loss Bama had beaten y’all in the SECCG. Because you’re all against muh greed.

Did y’all really think they replaced a computer-based ranking system with a committee to make things more above board? Be serious.

Because the dumb fricks in here think we took FSUs spot. We took Georgia’s spot.

Why would they have Texas leap FSU after beating Oklahoma State but not have Bama leap FSU after beating #1 UGA?

Because they're all dumbass journalists.

How fricking stupid are sportswriters? Hank Aaron wasn't a unanimous HOF choice when he went in. Wrap your head around that for a moment.

If you actually think about it makes plenty of sense.

The AP reflects the sentiment of how FSU was screwed over primarily due to money and ratings. The ESPN article on the topic gets to the main point.
Pundits who are on the dime are seldom going to express their own views simply because they want to stay employed. Booger, the other day couldn't refrain from calling a spade a spade.

Coaches in particular can't make drastic comments, but they can symbolically affirm their perspective through their voting.

My biggest surprise in all of this is the reaction of Saban in apparently not being able to gauge how pissed off people are from all around the country at how this all played out.

I love Liberty. Maybe the most veteran-friendly university on the planet, but Liberty in as a NY6 over SMU is the reverse logic of all the right the committee did with the FSU vs Bama and Texas call.

Either way, congrats. I hope Texas doesn't join FL and LSU in the secession from CFB injustice

So, will the committee ever even attempt to apologize for getting it so very wrong?

Of course not, because they didn't.

They were not even ranked in the CFP until they beat Tulane. Only joined the AP the week before the conference championship. If they were so good they would have been on the board well before then. Everyone was okay when it looked like Tulane was going to win and be the highest ranked G5. But when that did not happen suddenly SMU is the better team.

No thanks.

Our little shite G5 program is just fine.

I am curious if the AP so was concerned with what you believe why did a 1 loss Texas jump an undefeated FSU?

Just curious

Smu played two P5 teams and had a top 25 win. They played OU into the 4th qtr

Liberty did not. They played the 133 out of 133 schedules.

Still happy for them. Just talking about the heartache of others that doesn't extend to SmU for scheduling a tougher schedule and missing an NY6 bowl.

I do love Liberty. They helped many a Soldier.

And the AP and the CFP did not care about any of those wins as long as Tulane was the sure thing. And then they did not become the sure thing.

Not interested.

Our shitty G5 program is going to do fine, win, lose or draw.

I’m 3 pages late in posting this, largely because I assumed you knew this - but it has become apparent you have a severe lack of awareness.

The AP poll was released prior to the CFB Playoff poll.

No

That being said, there there are marginal variations at play in where and how college football fans spend their time and their money.

In other words, screwing over the fan base of a P5 program has created a significant ripple effect that they really didn't count on.

For one last year, they could have just gone with the precedence, but instead they created a firestorm. Just when you might have thought that the Disney/ESPN PR department had stopped the bleeding, they go ahead and pull this outrageous and awful stunt.

Doesnt make any sense. If this poll made sense then Texas would be below Alabama because it lost to Oklahoma later than in the season.
