Fiber is being prepped for our area but no specific ready date and i’m not really sure how fiber works in regards to signal and all that. Somebody talk me out of getting satellite DIRECTV again.
Fiber is lightning-fast, weatherproof, and lag-free compared to satellite's constant buffering and outages. Wait it out; you won't regret ditching DIRECTV dish drama, constant upgrade offers, price increases and lousy tech support.

re: IOS Safari Forward And Back Buttons
Posted by Pepperoni on 1/24/26 at 2:05 am to Miketheseventh
AI;
On recent iOS versions (especially iOS 26), Safari hides or shrinks the back/forward buttons depending on scroll and layout settings.
Common fixes:
1. Scroll or tap the address bar. If you scroll down, Safari hides the toolbar. Tap the URL bar or scroll slightly up — the back/forward buttons usually reappear.
2. Use swipe gestures. Swipe from the left edge of the screen to go back. Swipe from the right edge to go forward. This still works even when buttons are hidden.
3. Change Safari tab layout. Go to Settings > Safari > Tabs. Switch between Bottom and Top. This often restores a more visible toolbar with proper buttons. Tech sites report iOS 26 made the toolbar more compact by default.
4. Restart Safari or the phone. UI glitches after updates are common. A restart often brings the buttons back.

re: Best city/town in the Alps to use as a home base

Innsbruck = best for daily hiking.
Bolzano = great for Dolomites + food/culture, mix of German/Italian but fewer train options.
Lucerne = classic, super scenic Swiss Alps.
Bern = good city base with easy mountain day trips.
Milan = too far, skip.
Also depends which airport you’re flying into. Use Rome2Rio to look at some train options.

The only problem with this juicy news item was that it wasn't true.
ICE never even encountered any Ogala Sioux and never asked for an immigration agreement. The tribe only gave ICE the first names of the supposed detainees. It's not unreasonable to speculate that the entire "incident" was a publicity stunt, a set-up from the start.
“ICE did NOT ask the tribe for any kind of agreement; we have simply asked for basic information on the individuals, such as names and date of birth, so that we can run a proper check to provide them with the facts,” Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said.

I’ve been to Europe several times but never on a tour. For a first trip abroad, though, a tour can be appealing— traveling with like minded individuals and help with language barriers. A tour also eliminates car rentals in Italy.
You mentioned Rick Steves tours—they’re very well regarded per reviews and tend to fill quickly:
