Calm down...you better. It's going to be a long 3 or 4 years.

You know it deep down. All dynasties pay a price. Sports, nations, etc.

You owe and payment is due...

What will be your excuse when your team loses to this inexperienced coaching staff?

Ignores facts, and resorts to an attempt at verbal abuse. This downfall is going to be fun for us all.

That 17 years really sucked for you, didn't it? And you are freaking scared to death another one is about to happen. And rightfully so.

It's hilarious to watch some of the same Bammers who constantly trash BK, now justify their own younger, less experienced version of BK.

And for the record, I think DeBoer is a really good coach and will be fine.

Why do I feel like this isn't the first time you've heard such verbal abuse?

He will be much like Joey Halzle at Tennessee or Charlie Weiss at Ole Miss - an OC who works under a head coach who created/runs a system and is therefore responsible for much less than an OC at most other places would be. He was obviously not ready to be what was basically the offensive head coach at Indiana. He won't have the same responsibility here, but his in game play calls and flow will definitely matter. Whether he's able to do that, with DeBoer's assistance in gameplanning, is TBD.

Grubb was respected as a really good play caller, so losing him is a real loss. DeBoer trusted him and there was a big comfort factor there.

quote:

I don't get it. It would seem most OCs out there would jump at an opportunity to get a shot like this and he hires an old friend who was a complete bust as OC at Indiana for ONE year. Maybe he thinks he's the second coming of Saban and can rehabilitate a coach's career, but let's be real, he's no Saban and there will never be another one like him.

This doesn't really make sense, because DeBoer is going to run and teach DeBoer's offense. He's not going to hire a guy who runs a different offense.

Joe Sloan, LSU's newest play caller, had some pretty bad offenses at Louisiana Tech - #108 in 2020 and #103 in 2021 per FEI. By all accounts he's a good offensive coach and will be fine at LSU, but pretty similar situation.

Eh... the biggest issue with Kelly is his age.

He's shown us what he is. A good but not elite head coach. We should expect the same from him going forward.

Deboer deserves to have more optimism as he's taken a team to the playoff final in his second season at UW, made drastic improvements in 2 years at Fresno State and finished 4th, 1st, 2nd, 1st and 1st in his 5 years at a NAIA level.

To be honest, his resume looks a lot more like Urban Meyer's when he was hired by Florida than it does like Brian Kelly's.

He is less experienced, so it's possible he flops. But his resume lends itself more toward optimism than Kelly's does/did. Kelly's resume screams 9-3 every year. Deboer has only had 3 losses or more twice in 9 seasons as a head coach. Kelly has had 3+ losses 23 times in 32 seasons.

By the way, how's your new OC working out? I mean how many games has he won for the Cajuns so far? You might want to save your wake time for the purple and gold. Losing your OC and you still haven't stopped the bleeding on defense. Nothing to worry about here.

High school level doesn’t count. He’s 37-9 in FBS

I mean this is all very similar to Kelly in 2012 at Notre Dame.

Cincinnati had never even won 10 games or made a NY6 bowl prior to Kelly, he never won less than 10 games there and made two NY6 bowls.

He played for a natty in his third season at the P5 level, DeBoer did it in his second.

Both did very well at the lower levels and won national championships, Kelly just seemed to get bogged down at Notre Dame.

His last four seasons at Notre Dame were all less than 3 losses, he had 4 and 3 at LSU the last two seasons but also was taking over a team that was .500 for two seasons.

Dude, your 6-7 Liberty coach just had half his staff quit. The other was fired, after one season.

The barn is like that guy who jumped from a 20-story building. All the way down, you could hear him screaming, so far, so good.
