Never thought I'd live long enough to see Georgia dominate Florida this hard

Growing up as a Georgia fan in the 90s, it still seems sort of surreal.
In the last 6 games and going back to 2017, out of a possible 360 minutes, Florida has led for a grand total of 23 minutes.
Just to rub it in some more, the Dawgs just signed 7 out of the top 20 prospects in the state of Florida and the Gators 1.
LINK
And the best part of all is that there's no sign of it getting any better for Florida anytime soon. Kirby Smart is home and he's only 47 years old. Good times!

Miami is going to emerge as the power program in Florida. The Gators are dead.

I'm just glad the the administrations at Florida and Miami and Florida State showed so much hubris for so long, and when other programs were building shiny new facilities for recruits and hiring 40 person football offices, the fearless leaders at the Florida schools thought that they could magically stay on top without spending money just because of hubris and living in the past.
Alabama and Georgia have cherry-picked so many good players out of Florida in the last 5 years that it aint even funny.

Turns out, UF in the 90s is what was surreal.

Florida is the new Nebraska
A “once great” shite hole that will never be relevant again.
ICYMI: Florida hasn’t won a conference title since the Bush administration lmao

Florida is done as a program.

Florida will be back one day. I may be dead and gone by then though.
Shoot, LSU and UGA was both “done” as a program in the ‘90s.

It's all cyclical buddy, no doubt.

The support staff at Florida is massive. More staff there than players.

1990-1994
UF 5, UGA 0
1995-1999
UF 4, UGA 1
2000-2004
UF 4, UGA 1
2005-2009
UF 4, UGA 1

UF 2, UGA 3
2015-2019
UF 2, UGA 3
2020-2022
UF 1, UGA 2
A long way to go to catch up to that 20 year 17-3 run. Since then it's 8-5 in your favor.

There was a great 12 year run where it went back and forth with both teams pulling out 3 game win streaks over and over.
UF has a long way to catch up on the overall record.
I don't know if UGA can turn this 2 game win streak into 6 or 7 like Florida did in the 90s. But with just a snapshot of both programs today, Dawg fans have to like our chances.

UF is down, clearly but much like UGA for 40 years before they got Smart it's a sleeping giant. The right guy could easily get them rolling

Yep. Florida will be back. It's just a matter of time

I'm sure they will, after they fire their current AD.

We pretty much suck right now for sure, and I have no idea if this current group of people running the school and the athletic department really want to win or not, because we have the resources for sure, but we seem to be more concerned about being a top school and woke rather than a winner on the football field.

And that 90s run still led them to losing in the series, sad

In truth the past doesn't matter much. I don't give a shite about overall records or the run we had over y'all in the 90s. That's all just smack fodder.
More recently UGA has a title and if y'all get another you'll feel like we did a decade ago. But as mentioned, everything is cyclical. In 2010 we'd just won two titles and were 17-3 in our previous twenty games. Fast forward to today we're 5-8 against you.
Things change in a hurry and all you can hope for is maximizing the time you're at the top before you slip down again. Hard not to what-if the late season shenanigans that may have prevented a fourth title in 2009, for example.
One minute you're on top of the world, the next you're rolling through coaches and 7-5 seasons.

This has been said every 2-3 years since 2003. They just finished another losing season in the weakest ACC in twenty years. They lost to Middle Tennessee St and went 2-5 at home in front of 200,000 fans. Total. For all seven games.
They had the same record as A&M playing in an absolute dogshit conference. They went 3-5 and finished fourth in the ACC Coastal division, a division that no less than 7 SEC teams would've won.

Good luck with that. FYI, he was up 24-0 at that point.
We're pointing at the scoreboard.
