This is why Saban is the GOAT, and Frost will never be. Tua practiced with first string exclusively for 2 days because Hurts was "sick". Saban was expecting a hard fought game and originally planned on playing Tua and Hurts in the second half if the game was close and Bama needed to pass. By waiting until the second half to play Tua, Smart lost his chance to make Tua adjustments at halftime. Essentially Saban took Smart's best coaching trait(half time defensive adjustments) out of the equation.

For one, Frost is either lying or wasn’t allowed to heavily recruit Tua while he was Oregon. Because Tua wanted an Oregon offer in a bad way. And they didn’t offer until the summer of 2016 (when Frost was already gone) just weeks before he was making a planned announcement.
