I would think they would talk to guys that Ole Miss recruited hard and lost out on. I would think either LSU or Bama.

You're probably right but I just wanted to try and throw gas on a fire.

You could easily assume that 50% of the players in the NCAA are taking money instead of 100%. And that most of the 50% went to the highest bidder. Not sure why you have to believe that every single player playing was bought and paid for.

Truth there. Forde and Yahoo are notorious for spreading rumors to sell there product. All of media do now. It's pathetic really. If Ole Miss cheated take some schollies put em on probation for 2 or 3 years and be done. This shite is getting old.

Why would any player speak to the NCAA if the weren't granted immunity? Seems obvious, not shady.

The immunity is how they get them to talk. It's basically, "Hey if we find you were involved and you don't tell us, you can forget about your eligibility".

They also did the same to get Miami by interviewing Teddy Bridgewater before he flipped to UofL.

ETA: Flipped, not transferred.

Just seems like that would open up some people to lying to screw them over some more.

Fwiw, I dont follow any of these cases. I just read the end result on these forums. Didnt know if this was normal protocol or not

Sounds like the NCAA is getting awfully desperate to come up with anything if they are going through such great lengths

Sounds like OM fans are getting awfully desperate to come up with new excuses.

you are a scholarship player you have to talk to the NCAA

No you don't. The NCAA isn't the FBI. A simple " speak to my lawyer" is all it takes.

quote:

you may not have to tell the truth but you have to speak to them

So lie? They lie, a school gets hammered, and the NCAA looks like the hero for nailing the "cheater.

Sounds very professional.

I don't see the issue with that. They should tell every player that if they find out they accepted benefits, they will be in trouble.

Bridgewater never went to Miami.

The NCAA better figure this out and get this right. They've been all over the place on meating out discipline and are a joke.

Death penalty for SMU and near DP for Miami. Overly harsh on USC, took away 30 scholarships for Reggies moms lodging and essentially ended OSU's coach Tressels career with a 5 year show clause for a 60 year old coach while doing NOTHING to UNC for FAKE credits and Johny football for OPENLY selling autographs on eBay. WTF.

under that assumption, you'd have to also believe that every single player playing in the NCAA was bought and paid for, and the only way they signed where they did was because team A offered more than team B.

Yeah because saying ole miss is the only school offering money to players is a Way smarter assumption.

NCAA granting immunity is getting the truth. All they have to do is tell these kids that tell us everything and you're fine. But, if you lie and we find something down the road that you lied about or failed mention and we'll hold you accountable
i don't think that would be immunity
