If Auburn offered the #1 overall seed for our #2 seed I would say no.

1. The UNC AD headed the selection committee.
2. They don’t want to humiliate the ACC by giving the league the 3 teams it arguably deserves. And I say arguably because I honestly am not sure if Clemson or Louisville would have made the tournament if they played in the SEC.
For God’s sake, Clemson lost to the SEC’s last place team, and Louisville lost by 15 to an SEC team that didn’t clinch an NCAA bid until the conference tournament.
3. The selection committee has an huge obsession with the strength of team’s OOC schedules. Even if the horrendous of a team’s conference schedule means that their overall schedule was actually very weak. UNC undeniably played a much tougher OOC schedule than Texas, but Texas had a much tougher overall schedule because the SEC is farrr better than the ACC. And the selection committee has an obsession with OOC strength of schedule even apart from just viewing it as part of overall strength of schedule.
4. The Quad system is, probably intentionally, a bunch of BS that rewards winning road games against even the weakest major conference teams. If you can believe it or not, all 10 of UNC’s ACC road games were at least Quad 2 games, since Miami and BC were the only 2 ACC teams that were outside the top 135 and UNC played both at home. UNC got a bunch of quad 2 wins by beating terrible ACC teams on the road, while Texas got a bunch of quad 2 losses by losing at home to several teams just barely outside the top 30.
I really think that the selection committee should almost completely disregard games against non-top 60ish teams (whether home or away) unless you lose the game, but the NCAA really rewards those games.

You'll think differently if you get to the Elite Eight and are playing in front of a huge Duke crowd in Newark.
Auburn would have 90% of the crowd in Atlanta no matter who we play.

Baylor is the best possible draw State could have got in the 8/9 round. Way better than Creighton or Connecticut.
Duke in Raleigh sucks but don’t go 2-5 in last seven games.

I was wondering who would get the Zags as an 8.
