I am certainly not a Finebaum fan by any means, but at the League's Spring Meetings last Spring, he was saying that part of the problem for Black Bear fans is that the local media in the state..Black Bear beat writers...was by & large making light of the seriousness of the investigation. And as a result, Black Bear fans were not uptodate on what was actually going on. But I have not forgotten all the B.S. that was allegedly going to happen to AU when all the Cam shite was flying around all over the place. Big picture, nothing happened, and there was a lot more internet chatter about that investigation than there is here.

How so?

They told you (or y'all made up):

that it was only women's basketball
that there were no level 1 violations
that none of it involved Freeze
that it was only Saunders and Vaughn

Lindsay Miller was just lying and holding a grudge. There was no second investigation or second LOI.

I remember the offseason. I remember what Ole Miss fans were saying and I remember what other fanbases were telling them. I guess you can pretend that Ole Miss fans were right all along, but you'd be lying to yourself

Not one thing you just said is likely to happen. But your obsession is once again duely noted.

It has been a constant stream of deflection by them. Can't say I blame 'em, I'd probably be the same way if faced with those accusations.

But as odd as it is, there have been some MSU folks that have forewarned quite a few items that later on came to fruition.

NCAA doesn't punish programs. Just the Athletes. Freeze may have to go but that is not a huge deal. Nothing happens till after the 2017 season if anything happens at all like a poster before said. UNC has been under investigation for how long? They were drug dealing and making up classes, everyone knows it, what's left to investigate? Ol Miss paid players, we all know it, just delaying the process. Can't be any worse than what Ohio State got.

What? Alabama's program was crippled for damn near a decade.

SNITCH U/starksville has as much invested in this investigation as Ole Miss does in its efforts to be a player in the sec west.

Ole Miss is safe since the NCAA just knocked Southern University's dick in the dirt.

I do apologize, I should have said more recently. The bounce back was pretty quick for Alabama, Ohio State didn't do too bad either. UNC seems to be doing fine. They just draw it out so they can cover it for half a decade it seems like, maybe Ol Miss is looking at this all wrong.

You will love it if Shea Patterson transfers to LSU?

Really?

It's just a matter of time before the ncaa rapes them. Then, the transfers will occur

Not a single player transferred from Alabama when UA was hit in 2000.

I remember Tommy West, at Memphis State, talking schit about how he was going after some UA players. I called him up, pretending to be the father of a player interested in his program, and I started asking him what bowls they'd been to lately, how many games were televised the last couple of years (this was 2001, so not as many televised games as now), and basically just subtly trashing their program. Finally, West said "maybe our program isn't right for your son" at which point I started mocking him for even thinking any University of Alabama player would transfer to his p.o.s. team. I finally called him "boy" and he got so pissed he was yelling nearly incoherently, and then hung up on me. Man, that was hilarious.

I also called up Roy Adams one morning about 3 a.m. Cortez Kennedy actually answered the phone the first time and hung up on me. I called back and talked to Roy for about 5 minutes. That's another story, for another day......

I haven't been keeping up with the Ole Miss NCAA violation mess. Is Freeze really in "show cause" trouble?

Rational people who really know say Freeze will not get a show cause. He may get suspended a game or two (or maybe not). An assistant could get a show cause, though, they say. I see Ole Miss getting a bowl ban and scholarship reductions. To what degree likely somewhere between what OM wants and so many others want. We'll see. Recruiting is definitely on a down turn; that's not up for debate.

Keep in mind that the people this guy is referring to as "rational people who really know" are the same people who said "nothing to see hear. All women's basketball and track. Nothing relating to football." throughout this whole ordeal.

Also keep in mind that the women's basketball and track coaches got show causes for less than what the NCAA has already come forth with on the current football staff.

In other words, Bucky Beaver just found himself caught in a beaver trap and is likely to get skinned for his pelt.

No, no. These people I speak of were by no mean OM fans and never said "nothing to see here." You are speculating on something you know nothing about. These were multiple sources and they did say assistants could possibly get show causes. Pure and simple. I'm not trying to spin this in any way or lessen the severity of the situation. It's definitely not good. Recruiting is suffering mightily, may only get worse, there quite possibly could be a bowl ban, and likely scholarship reductions. There won't be a TV ban (they won't punish another team) and no death penalty (that's been ridiculous all along). Again, still not good, make no mistake about it. What more do you want?

LOL. ok buddy. Just wait and see how the ncaa handles ole miss and then let me know if you still believe that bs. They will cripple ole miss for a decade at least. I know...it's going to be like beating up a handicapped person because it's ole miss and they don't win shite anyway, but ole miss is bringing it upon themselves. They were way too blatant in thier cheating and they got caught. They're done for.
