So is this more important that RPI now or no?

The NET ratings are what the selection committee will use.

So... RPI is about as relevant as the AP poll.

Right. It seemed last season to be more of a “guideline” than anything. It’s still a human committee and has all the bias that comes with that.

Way better? Nah but they were better offensively for sure.

I mean Bailey was pretty much a lost cause in conference play last year, maybe just maybe he wont be in his final season, but I'm not counting on him being much of a factor then. I guess 1 thing working in his favor is there definitely seems to be less talented bigs this year than last year in conference play, but certainly still a lot more quality guys he'll see now vs. OOC play.

Bailey has improved a ton under Musselman. As of last week, he was ranked #1 in defensive efficiency.

Again, playing mostly big guys who arent SEC caliber. Just curious to see how he does against more talented and bigger guys week in week out.

On the defensive end?

I can get you being critical of his offense. His touches per possession and shots are down from last year, which is good. He is never going to be a guy that you are going to for your 1st, 2nd or even 3rd option but he holds his own defensively for sure. Especially when you consider he is constantly at a size disadvantage.

Yeah but y’all did at least have McLemore inside. And once he went down y’all fell off a cliff.

Are there many examples of him shutting down other team's bigs? That would be the only saving grace there considering he's not much on offensive end.

Not trying to say he's completely worthless just saying the forward/bigs position is clearly a weakness for Ark.

see the second half of the Indiana game yesterday. After half time, we switched defenders on their all American and he had 3 buckets only in the second half. He even said as much in the post game interview as to why they struggled inside in the second half.

He shut down Bassey at WKU who dominated Gafford in Fayetteville the year prior.

I wouldn't argue he is going to shut any big down. I just think he will more than hold his own on the defensive side of the court.

It is for sure but I really overstated it before this season started. Musselman has done a great job getting these guys to effectively front the post and bring help from behind when they try to pass it in. Miller talked alot about this in his presser last night. The bigger issue for Arkansas won't be Bailey but when we have to play a team with two solid bigs. In many cases Mason is going to have to guard the four which could be an issue. I don't worry about Bailey so much anymore. He isn't going to shut players down but he will do enough to be solid on the defensive end.
