Of the 8 super regionals this weekend, 5 will be played on turf and 3 will be played on grass.

We try and keep it a little more cordial in the baseball thread than on the rant. It doesn't always work, but everyone is usually mindful of it other than a few. I always appreciate less trolling if you can do your best please.
We have to give each other a little shite or it's no fun, but we try to stay away from the constant drone of it.
You have been a great addition to the board in my opinion and even though I don't agree with everything you post you bring a lot of energy and passion to the board which is a great thing.

Disch-Falk had turf when it was built in ‘75. They used to have the high school playoffs there and the high use of the facility was one of the reasons turf was installed.
Since Dell Diamond was built in Round Rock, they no longer have the playoffs at Disch-Falk. There has been talk of going to grass, but I think it’s a lower priority item.
The original field was similar in dimensions to Rosenblatt and the Texas teams were built accordingly. Pitching, speed and defense have been the hallmark of Texas Baseball, and Texas leads the country in fielding, again.
I like grass, but we hardly have any games canceled due to rain, more to lightning, and the only bad bounces are off the bases.
I don’t recall any players or coaches ever complaining about the field.
