Tu had the worst astroturf ever for a long time.
Disch Falk Field had astroturf for the longest time and switched to artificial turf and have had it ever since.
The astro turf was an enormous home field advantage. The turf still acts as an advantage to some sorts as the ball travels much faster on it.

I think a turf field sucks arse, because baseball was meant to be played outdoors on real grass. The fricking Astrodome fricked everything up. Thanks Houston. Y'all should apologize to Earl Campbell for making him play on that crap while you're at it.

If you live in less optimal environments turf is a good compromise, but there is ZERO reason for a turf baseball field if you are in the south. Unless you are just a lazy group of assholes like the socialists that have taken over Austin
