I was courtside for Alabama vs Kentucky in the mid 70's with Leon Douglas and Rick Roby going at it, most violent basketball game I ever saw. It was glorious.
Would have loved to been a witness but I wasn't born yet.

Make them sit out the rest of the series. That’s about the only way you can do it.

This might save the sport

There is a difference between a flop and a charge

We know. Arkansas is probably the reason they made the rule.

"The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel approved allowing men's basketball officials to assess Class B technical fouls to players who fake being fouled, beginning in the 2022-23 season."
They'll call 147 offensive fouls a game so not sure why this rule even matters
The only time this will be called is when Teddy Valentine doesn't think he's getting enough attention

Think Paul Simon wrote a song about this. Yes. Yes he did. “Still Salty After All These Years…”.

What they really need to address is the flopping that defensive players do in CFB.
The answer is simple. Require the player to be taken to the locker room and be evaluated by medical staff. If he is cleared, then he can return to the game after a 15 minute warmup period.

Asking the refs to assess whether or not a player is truly injured...
Why bother? The refs should be focusing on the game. I wouldn't even have a penalty. Just apply a flat rule to everyone in the interest of 'player safety'. You go down due to injury, you sit out x-amount of game-time/series/quarter/whatever. The end.
Then any actual injuries can be assessed and dealth with properly by staff who are meant to do so. The game can go on. And if it was a flop, then presumably it was calculated by the coaching staff that the automatic loss of that player for whatever time period was worth the time stoppage they got to get themselves settled and ready for the next play.
I think it might even introduce an interesting new dynamic to the game. Anything like that would be a lot better than what we have now, with obvious ridiculous flopping and loads of complaints afterwords (distastefully on a few rare occassions when a player genuinely was injured).

would love to see it, but how though? You have any suggestions?
Suggestion: “any player requiring assistance from the field must be medical evaluated for no shorter than the end of the quarter being played”
This would end the falling down fake stuff immediately.
