This is going to be bizarre - can’t wait to watch the championship game with no fans yelling, applauding.

Exactly. Overreact now = less long term damage from exposure. I don't see how you could make a good argument against this.

Because schools and workplaces are still open with kids and employees breathing on each other 8 hours a day. In smaller spaces.

And that's an argument against shutting down a giant open venue with thousands of people cycling in and out? Not to mention that businesses and schools in higher risk areas will be following suit where possible.

Yes, but on the other hand I'm certain it's also many people's sincerely held beliefs.

Glad they didn’t cancel the whole thing. Going to be really weird to watch the games with no fans. But it would be really sad for the players if they cancelled the whole thing.

Not an argument against. Just saying if schools and workplaces remain open like they are then we’re all gonna catch it anyway. I guess I don’t understand the mass hysteria of this thing.

Yeah, because preserving sporting events is much more important the public health, economic stability and general welfare.

Only fricking morons think this is the wrong move. It sucks and will be weird to watch these games but is a fricking pandemic. It’s absolutely the right call.

Look at Italy and China. This is serious.

Up to a half million killed in the USA by estimates.

The rationale behind it is to induce a pretty extreme level of social distancing to keep the risk of exposure as low as possible in order to keep the strain on the medical system as low as possible:

Tons of workplaces are sending people home. IE: Certain Bluecross offices are randomly selecting like half their employees to WFH starting next week.

No, because of the mass panic over yet another pandemic that will fizzle out

Mark Emmert says the NCAA is looking to move the Final Four out of Mercedes-Benz Stadium into a smaller venue in Atlanta.

Regional sites could also be moved from the currently scheduled arenas to smaller venues in same cities.

The plan is to keep sites for the 1st round as is.
