Bama-Avg of 1.0 I mean, college football right now is kinda pointless. One team is getting the number 1 class every single year. It also makes it hard to judge the "coaching abilities" of anyone on Bama's staff. The talent gap just inst fair They have nothing to feel sorry about but geez it just sucks for everyone else
Yeah. They to use the SOS and talent gap of the teams to figure out who has done the best job coaching who they have vs who they've played and have. Anyone could put 11 5*s on the field and tell them to make a play and 90% of the time one of them will.

Very informative Jacknola.

It should be noted that 9 of the top 12 listed have made at least 1 appearance in a national championship game in the last 20 years, and 8 of those 9 have done so just since 2004.
Four of the top ten are SEC programs that have won 1 or more NC's just in the last decade (during the recent period where the SEC won an unprecedented 7 straight NCs.

Good stuff...

Anyone who doesn't believe the correlation between recruiting rankings and championships is delusional; 3 of the 5 top teams in that least have won NC's during that period. Surprised to see Clemson ranked that low. They always seem to have some dynamite players.

But LSU was suppose to fall completely off the map because A&M joined the SEC.

LSU is underachieving big time according to your chart

According to this logic Auburn should have been finishing in the Top 5-10 every season. What a massive underachievement.

LSU finished 4th (6.75) for 2012-2015 which was his way to predict last season based on recruiting standing. LSU finished ranked 16/17, which is 12-13 spots lower than this had us at. Which is on average 12.5 spots lower between the two final polls vs. our recruiting rank.

Texas A&M finished 9th (10.25) for 2012-2015 which was his way to predict your last season based on recruiting standing. Texas A&M finished unranked and did not receive a single vote in either poll, which means you are at minimum 28 spots lower in the AP poll (Had 12 teams receive votes) and at minimum 32 spots lower in the Coaches poll (had 16 teams receive votes). So Texas A&M on average is AT MINIMUM 30 spots lower between the two final polls vs. your recruiting rank.

In case you needed help interpreting the chart.

I know this is tRant buy I don't understand the logic that LSU has fallen off or something.

They've basically won double-digit games eight out of the last 11 seasons. The other three seasons they've won 8, 8, and 9. Show me five other teams in the country that have done that.

For all the squawking about how coach Boom did a great job recruiting in the last class for USC it seems he was below their recent average.

Getting recruits to buy in to a team coached by him, warts and all from his HC stint at Florida, along with his brand new staff to the effect of increasing our recruiting ranking from 50th to 26th in a 6 week period of time seems sufficient reason to "sqawk" about what he accomplished in regard to recruiting.

So, while he did finish below the average before him, he wasn't given much AT ALL to work with from the get-go @ 50th in the nation.

Overachieving vs under achieving... this is strictly relative. Ratings within about 10 points historically has been pretty close, maybe 54-46 or something. Plus some teams have a notable weakness at a key position, say... QB... which can negate the overall strength of recruiting.

When Miss State, the 7th ranked team in SECw is fielding a team with recruiting talent equal to Stanford or Mich State, I don't think anyone will be surprised at anomalies in the inter-conference results.
