I’m pretty sure he didn’t know he was going to shoot anyone 10 seconds before he did it much less thought to tell anyone on the team. Is this all trolling?

Nope. Sorry. Oats knew but only cares about winning. That’s why he kept the guy with

Nate Oates has nothing to do with this.

Just to the extent that he recruited him and is his current coach. There is another recruit he has committed with some serious allegations also. Not murder but serious.

if true, why was he in a situation like this?

Miles has played over 50 games in a bama uniform.
Oats does only care about winning, thats why he was riding the bench this season.

I dislike Bama and all, but I don't think you can necessarily blame the coach for what a player does on the weekend.

OP is stupid, but a lot of coaches take responsibility for making men out of their players and not letting them do whatever they want. Kelly has done a good job at keeping things clean off the field.

The alternative is jimbo fisher

You keep saying this like a suspect is out on the loose. Should they maybe go to Oats and ask about why he was off the team for a month? Sure I guess but they pretty much caught the two culprits red handed

Maybe they will. I doubt it will be approached from the perspective that the coach is somehow to blame

statements he had been making, anything they knew about his relationship with the victims,

And you believe they would think Oats and the staff would know anything about that?

Something needs to be done about Bama basketball. Oats won't get away this time.

Yes, how could a guy’s coworkers and boss have any insight into a guy they’ve spent several hours a day around and gone on dozens of out of town trips every year?

But don’t mind me. I only worked at the Alabama Attorney General’s office for 17+ years, assisted in trial preparation for dozens of murder trials and even testified in a few. I don’t really have a frame of reference for how these things go.

Cite us just 1 case you interviewed all 20ish coworkers (players/staff) where none of them witnessed the homicide.

I didn’t do interviews. I prepared evidence for trial presentation and sometimes computer forensics depending on the needs of the prosecutor.

Twenty interviews is not many in a capital case at all. They may be short and may even start with asking the staff who he was close to on the team and interview them first. There are posts in at least one thread here claiming some have already been interviewed. The prosecution and defense covering every angle is why capital murder cases take years to go to trial.

It doesn’t even end at trial. If he’s convicted and his teammates liked him the defense will be using them to try and show he shouldn’t get the death penalty.

This. Just say a little prayer for everyone involved, including the young man who made a horrible decision, his teammates, etc

It's sad, and school bias has no business being introduced.
