Indiana basketball has a big name, and both guys have Midwest ties, but I don't see either guy leaving for IU. Both coaches have good things going at their current jobs.

"Eric Musselman (Arkansas) - a long time professional coach who made the move to college about nine years ago, Musselman sports a very impressive winning rate of just under 75 percent. He went to three straight NCAAs with Nevada and in his second year at Arkansas has the Hogs ranked in the top 10.

Nate Oats (Alabama) - Has really made this happen at Alabama in a short period of time, taking home this year's SEC regular season championship."

Here's the hot board. Lots of names on the list. Anyone with a 247 subscription can read it.

Heard Minnesota will be after Musselman too...guess his dad coached there back in the 70’s so there’s a connection.

Kelvin Sampson left OU (after taking them to final four) for IU, we saw how that worked out.

It's a sleeping giant but their fans are notorious. Big Ten is def. much more competitive.

This isn't football where you need to be at a blue blood to win. Neither coach leaves their current gig.

I think that would be a terrible career choice for Muss, but I'm sure they will kick the tires.

I’m gonna guess neither leave their jobs for Indiana. Why would they?

Both will be giving hefty raises to try to fight off the bigger basketball schools I'm sure.

Oats just did, a little over a month ago. And a massive buyout to boot.

This is the name (behind their dream of Brad Stevens) that seemed to be bouncing around their boards the most.

I mean I agree it would be a major step down from Arkansas. But they will definitely inquire on Musselman.

His dad coached there 1971-1975 and then coached the Timberwolves 1989-1991...Eric actually grew up in Minneapolis until high school.

If Muss makes a deep run we will lock him down. If he doesn't I could see Hunter letting another overpay him. If he can't get to the sweet 16 with this group why would we want to keep him?

Could see Matta, Moser, or Pope getting the job.

Beard would be a huge hire if Indiana could get him. He's making 4.6 million at Texas Tech tho.
