I was one of the few people still there that night. Bottom of the 13th. I was so drunk I couldn’t fully grasp what happened until watching sportscenter the next day

The most WAOM moment I've ever seen for any SEC team ironically happened against Ole Miss. Mississippi State kicked a 20 or so yard FG late in an early 80s Egg Bowl. Right as the kicker kicked the ball, a fricking hurricane force gust of wind blew against the ball and it fell short. Was the most inexplicable shite I've ever seen on a football field

Hahahahahaha......I remember that Virginia Dawg what year was that? It was almost like GOD sent an Angel down to prevent that kick from going through the uprights. I’m not going to try to figure out what year it was on Wikipedia but if you would post the video of it on here I would really appreciate it. That was incredible.

It was 1983. State dominated the whole game and we were both very mediocre but the implications were the winner would go to a shitty bowl game, and Ole Miss had basically been garbage all the way through the 70s after Archie left to the early 80s

Thank You OB Reb ask and ye shall receive. That was absolutely incredible it had to be Divine intervention. I’ve never seen anything like that I was 8 years old and I remember it vividly.

I wasn’t quite born yet but it’s always been one of those things my family members told me about while chuckling their asses off

How much time do you have? Charlie Strong had like 5 of these a season

I guess in 2016 against Kansas we had D'Onta Foreman run the same play 43 offensive plays in a row. Let me repeat that: D'Onta Foreman had to run the ball 43 plays in a row bc we were too scared to protect a lead against winless Kansas.

He fumbled toward the end of regulation, they tie the game with no time left, and then on the first play of overtime, Texas tried a pass play - interception.

Losing that game didn't cost us anything. We would've been 6-6 instead of 5-7. But losing to Kansas inspired a meme that is probably never going to go away

Completely forgot about this. Ole Miss was in the drivers seat that season too. Ole Miss had already played LSU and Bama and was ranked in the top 4 of the CFP Playoffs. A win against Auburn would have meant the Rebels likely play for an SEC championship.

Laquon Treadwell looking like he was about to score the go ahead touchdown late in the game and then snapping his leg and fumbling before the ball crossed goal line made me block that out of my memory.

An exhaustive coaching search to replace Fran that ended with the last great Wazzu coach the SEC hired... ... and then he finally met his Destiny.

Hahahahahaha, I still can’t believe that silly bassid Mike Price thought he could get away with the same shenanigans he was accustomed to up in Washington State. Nobody pays any attention to what their HC does up there. In Alabama and Auburn, your football HC is very much watched. Titty bars are a no/no.

“Roll Tide,,,,,,,, it’s rolling baby”...,

Hahahahahahahaha

Nope, that was never going to happen.

Ole Miss would still have had 2 losses including a double digit whipping from Memphis.

Yup. That loss to Memphis was probably the biggest WOAM moment of that year.
