Everyone who follows the SEC knows that Ole Miss has frequently been on the cusp of finally breaking through and getting over the hump and in the key moments of a big game Ole Miss finds a way to frick shite up in stunning fashion.

I wanted to know if there is a more cursed team in the SEC.

WAOM Examples:

1998: Bryce Drew hits a buzzer beater against the highest seeded Ole Miss tournament team in program history. Valpo played Rhode Island for an opportunity to earn an Elite 8 berth a few days later.

2003: Ole Miss Lou Groza award winning kicker misses 2 field goals vs LSU for a berth in the SEC Championship game. Ole Miss loses by 1 field goal. LSU wins the SEC and National Title.

2005. 2006. 2009. Ole Miss wins the first super regional game and is only one win away from Omaha, yet goes on to lose the next 2 games on three separate occasions. Ole Miss is 1-5 in super regionals under Bianco.

2015: 4 and 25. If Ole Miss beats Arkansas, Ole Miss would have made an SEC championship game appearance against a Florida team without their starting QB Will Grier. An sec championship would have probably put the Rebels in the CFP playoffs.

OFF THE FIELD: Hugh Freeze, the most promising Ole Miss HC since Johnny Vaught gets caught balls deep in escorts and NCAA sanctions.

God damn being an ole miss fan is lot like being a heroine addict. Keep coming back no matter how much it’s killing you.

This all day. Plus hanging a banner for almost winning the West in 2003.

Not sure of one for Alabama. Kick Six and Camback is as close to being kicked in the nuts as I can remember. Plus the national title game in 2016.

I've re-watched that whole game twice during this sports free quarantine...it was just so damn delicious. Also, you forgot to mention Eli Manning tripping over his own lineman on 4th down to seal the game

I think people in general forget all the implications just because the game was crazy enough by itself.

For Arkansas, it was a dropped popfly. That still grinds my gears and will as long as I exist.

And yet Ole Miss still claims the SEC West Championship that year...

That one time we dressed up as OM and tried to be impostors.

They said, "Who da hell are you?"

We said "WAOM"

The dude shrugged and finally said "Ah'ight".

Somebody else says "I don't think that was Ole Miss".

It warms my heart to see you thinking about these failures on a random Wednesday morning.

Rocky Block or 14 men on the field at LSU come to mind

But pretty much every season in the last 10 years is full of them

The national titles.

In 1964 we go undefeated but Bama wins the AP poll in the regular season and is declared national champs.

We win our bowl game and Bama gets slapped around by a Texas team we beat. The AP voters realized the injustice of this and changed their voting rules to award the natty after bowl games.

You can all see how this going to end up. Yes. Next year we finish the regular season ranked number 1 but lose our bowl game and Bama wins their bowl game to take the national title.

For Alabama it would have to be the 1997 Iron Bowl. Bama was wining 17-15 with 20 goddamn seconds left to go in the game and we had the ball on offense and all Bama needed was either a 1st down or just run a play then punt the ball to pin Auburn deep. That dumb arse offensive coordinator Bruce Arians called a screen pass then Ed Scissum fumbled the ball then AU recovered the fumble then they drilled the winning FG at the very last second to win the Iron Bowl 18-17. I was so triggered I punched out a window in my Jeep Cherokee. I hate Bruce Arians to this very day about that putridly stupid call. That would have been Bama’s first win in Jordan Hare ever. I’m convinced we (Bama) are just cursed inside Pubic Hair Stadium.

Can't wait for someone to post the "Piss and Miss" like it was a bad thing for Ole Miss

My initial thoughts are blowing a 21-3 lead to FSU in the NC and losing in the Final Four due to a missed double dribble followed by fouling a guy on a last second shot.

Now I'm going to go cry alone for a bit.

Nah. That was like Bert losing in his last game vs Mizzou for Arkansas. You hate to see a loss but under the circumstances it was a blessing.

Easy. Leading UCLA 44-10 late in the 3rd, then falling apart completely and losing 45-44.
