Sark and Lanning, maybe so.

I think those two were too tied down. Understandable.

Sarkisian and Kirby Smart were never realistic candidates.

Harbaugh is at his alma mater but probably going NFL because of the cheating scandal.

Kiffin wasn't considered for whatever reason

Kelly hasn't even made the playoffs at LSU and was pounded by Alabama when he was at ND.

So he was the 2nd choice of reasonable candidates. Whether he will be a great coach, I haven't the slightest idea.

Plus: no contract yet as far as I know.

But how did Sark do vs DeBoer?

Was throwing to the end zone to win the game with a second year starter at WB after Deboer almost blew it with a 7th year senior heisman finalist

NIL Kiffin scares me more than a D2 guy from the mountains out west trying to recruit culcha.

I would argue Lanning or Sark but DeBoer is 5-0 against them in the last two years...with lesser talent

But he had Michael Penix.

Lanning. I know DeBoer beat him twice this year, but Lanning is the superior recruiter and that matters.

Lanning had a financial advantage because of Nike. Now DeBoer is on a playing field tilted to his advantage.

I would have taken Lanning 100 times over DeBoer

Lanning knows what the SEC is all about as opposed to DeBoer who has only coached in one game against an SEC opponent as an OC.

It is higher than that. I lot of people here are very emotional and irrational.

It's funny that you didn't mention Brian Kelly

I didn't mention Belichik or Vrable either. You had the same chance of hiring them as you did Kelly.

Sark and Lanning.

But Ill take Bama with the 99th ranked Defense. They aren't likely to come across a Michael Penix Jr to carry their offense to make up for no defense.

I have absolutely zero doubt if Bama hired Sark, Kiffin or Lanning these same folks would call Deboer a better hire. The thing is, they'd have a better point then. The argument would actually be on their side.

Kiffin isnt a better hire. He's failed more than succeeded all the places he's been. The SEC has been a hot mess during his time at OM and he still lost to the good teams he played in conference.

As for DeBoer, He showed the drop off against Michigan with a defense. Atleast Bama got them to OT with Milroe. DeBoer had an offense and did nothing.
