The train tracks in the east end zone of Sanford Stadium.

The tracks were truly a unique place. I watched part of the 1979 game there, but when we sacked Buck Belue in that endzone for a safety and broke his ankle, I guess we were celebrating a bit too much....we were asked to leave. Given the odds, we left.

The grunginess of the strip. It's all nice and pretty now.

I feel like most colleges have lost the grunginess. They're all polished now.

Did you know that a fifth of scotch fits perfectly in the inside jacket pocket of a band uniform? (And we NEVER got searched for contraband at the gate!)

Band people threw awesome parties in the hotels on away trips.

4. Watching girls shower via Jean LePere’s telescope to identify targets prior to launching a successful mass panty raid — Yes DKEs invented the idea of the MASSIVE PANTY RAID in 1953. Earlier gay versions involved guys getting into hallways & politely rapping on doors begging for it — nahhhhhh! Pokey was Captain of the DKE Raiding Party and Chief instigator of a three fraternity panty raid where over 100 girls were carried off into the Louisiana night to waiting blankets by the lake and boom boom time! The days!

So...........a giant gang rape?

Very true. Auburn no longer has the Casino, the Supper Club, or Harry's. Few places could match the grunge level of Harry's, where the elite meet.

The pool hall, arcade, and bowling alley under the LSU student union.

South Carolina used to have a university-sanctioned bar in the student union called The Golden Spur. Just a different time.

You win the thread with the Flush. What a treat to go there at night as a student.

Allegedly, LSU has a bar under Tiger Stadium just for law students.

The student body being more on the 60/40 65/35 in state to out of state student ratio. Sure, it’s great publicity but seems to change a lot of the dynamics

That you were a DKE explains a lot.

I always did get a laugh driving past the DKE house on game days with many of the signs hanging from the front of the house. Always in bad, but very humorous, taste.

I miss the old chimes street. Dirty old seedy and perfect. The Library, the bayou, magoo’s, plasma center and the head shop. Those were the days of the shite dogs and great Carlotta st parties. Btw. LSU lost a lot when it lost the dekes.
