They’re not shortsighted. They just desperately want to forget last year ever happened.

I’d take Percy Harvin over all 3 of those guys...not that they aren’t good.

Justin Jeffy baw. Devonta Smith is great though and one of the best I've seen which makes sense being that he is a Louisiana native. No surprise there.

Not the most stand out group of Heisman contenders this year. Of the four, he was the better choice

Smith has had one of the most dominant WR seasons in CFB along with Larry Fitzgerald @ Pitt in 2003, Michael Crabtree in 2007 and Amari Cooper @ Alabama in 2014. Those are really the only other players who've had a similar effect on the game (where a defense had to game plan for essentially one guy) as a WR in the modern era.

I think Larry Fitzgerald in 2003 was the single most spectacular "one man gang" out of these with the least help around him. Davonta has been spectacular, but he's surrounded by supremely talented players.

Jerry Rice was talked about as a Heisman candidate playing at a black college. How often have you heard a player at a historically black being mentioned for Heisman. That's how good he was.

I saw him play in person when he was in college and he is the best I've ever seen. As a kid I wondered was he dominating like this because of the level of competition or is hejust that good. Obviously he was that great no matter who the competition.

Jerry Rice and it’s not close. He was legendary at MS Valley St. Nobody had heard of that school prior to him.
