Well, as bittersweet as it is, I think yall are set up for 2012 to NOT be a waste, on the surface at least. It's already gift-wrapped.

The Gods really are playing with UGA football right now.

well you see with a competent coach 12-0 would be a cinch. with richt 10-2 is not out of the realm of possibilities. it would almost be fitting we have that schedule and still let carolina take it from us. that would be enough for a final and brutal end to the richt regime.

you're right though, this has been a fricked up series of events. obviously there is little movement to fire richt but you can tell it is a turbulent time. obviously from fans but even bill king ripped into Bobo, while as you said neglecting to slame richt, but if we could just fire bobo that would be enough. but it won't happen.

that's the whole kicker in it all, i would be happy in just hiring a new offensive staff and taking richt out of the equation which should not at all be our MO. if your HC is so god damn inept that you have to hire a staff in order to prevent him and his system fricking everything up. he is stuck in 1992 in 2012.

god fricking damnmit

I think UGA fans are too hard on Ritcht. Seriously to win the SEC east is quite an accomplishment. The SEC is the toughest conference in the country so he did good this year. Sure if he was in the ACC he'd win it, but the SEC is the best conference.

He's done a good job in my opinion given the competition.

Spot on.

Agreed.

The players know the fans and administrators will accept mediocrity out of Richt and the players know Richt will accept mediocrity out of them. UGA has been more talented on a consistent basis than any team in the country outside of USC over the last decade, but year after year expectations have not been met and nothing has been done about it. The bar in Athens has been set and the players and coaches will not work any harder than what that bar is.

This is not UGA's problem, I would have loved to have you OL this year.

This should not factor into the decision at all. UGA is a much better program in a lot better shape than UT. If the UGA job opened, it would be the best available job in America and UGA could find an excellent coach. You don't even need a superstar with the recruiting base UGA has. You need a disciplinarian with a lot of fire and passion to succeed (see Brady Hoke turning Michigan around in one year).

I wont touch on Richt because there really isnt anything to say.

Did any of y'all catch Buck Belues freakout yesterday on the radio? I'm at work and the link is blocked but I'm pretty sure this is what I'm talking about. Its well worth the listen.

The thing about Crowell is, and I can't think of another player in years of watching SEC ball that I can say this about, is that everyone- his opponents, and apparently his teammates, think he's a bitch.
If your own teammates dont have your back, you are truly a snatch.
He should be gone from UGA today.

UGA is too good to be so soft. I don't know if the coach is too mellow, the S&C not up to snuff, or what. Y'all recruit ok, but UGA has to get back to a place where they intimidate people.

that guy is a fricking moron. he even proves it by this

Richt has McClendon, Ball and Belin on the staff to calm any concerns that the move is race related.

coach belin left the team last winter for the panthers. i am a fricking fan i know that. belue is living off being the catalyst between center and herschel walker. all he ever had to do was fricking exist for 2 seconds a play but now he is qualified as a georgia expert? christ i am gonna take one of BHP's lines real quick and say I really fricking hate us sometimes

YEA IT'S BEEN A FEW DAYS AND I AM STILL MAD

UGA is stuck with Richt and Bobo for at least two more years. Next year's schedule guarantees it.

The only way Richt leaves is if he wants out.

UGA is the same 8-5 team that they were in 2010. The only difference is the schedule this year and that will be the same for next year. UGA will still be the same team in 2012 but with a great masking record save for the teams with a pulse.

This is a perceptive comment. Yet, like him or not, it's virtually impossible to fire a coach who finishes 10-4.

And, Tennessee is not your only example. Nebraska has had bad trouble ever since they fired Solich.
