Your idiot corner pointed to him (the guy that moved) the entire play.
Doesn't matter if no flag is thrown or no whistle is blown before the play starts (or ends). They had absolutely zero grounds to make that call. But, as usual, there's no immediate accountability for refs in any sport so the complete ignorance of the rules went unchecked. It could have been a massive turning point in the game. Don't get me wrong, the refs aren't the reason we lost. We can't take care of the ball for shite and missed 2 FG's. But it was certainly a factor.

Like Reid's strip and recovery?

The play had already been blown dead like 2 whole seconds prior. Not the same scenario. The play was dead. False start penalties are supposed to completely stop the play and be assessed immediately. Only offsides penalties allow the play to continue.

Nah go watch the replay if you recorded the game. They show it a few times when you can hear the whistle in relation to the ball being stripped.

And you can't complain about a ref calling a false start that was clearly a false start. the timing made it seem like bad luck but clearly the receiver jumped.

The timing wasn't bad luck. The timing was against the rules. If they don't throw the flag, there's no penalty. Period. ESPECIALLY on a penalty that is supposed to stop the play.

Even if it hadn't, Knile's forward progress had been stopped and he was being pushed back. By rule, if the ball is stripped then, it's the same as being dead anyway. At least, that's how the ref explained it. Of course, judging by how the officiated overall, I wouldn't exactly trust the explanation so I could be completely wrong.

you act as if this is the first time there's ever been a pre-snap penalty that is supposed to stop the play that isn't called until after the play happened.

i don't know what the ref's excuse is for not calling it initially, but he clearly got the call right which is what matters. If you watch football regularly you would agree this isn't that uncommon. Sorry it negated what would have been a big play for your team but there was clearly an infraction on LSU and they got the call right. There isn't a rule about the refs being unable to throw a flag late.

LSU got away with a turnover on their 20 with a false start with no whistle or flag before (or after) the snap. Only after LSU had lost the ball did they decide to call false start. You can whine all you want. The refs clearly favored LSU in this game.

Sounds like your the one whining. Did you happen to the see the refs take away Eric Reid's fumble recover even though no whistle had blown because the red said the forward progress ha stopped? Take off your red glasses and you would see the refs were bad on both sides today.

Quit bitching. The refs were terrible on both sides today. LSU made the plays when it mattered and won the game. Quit whining and accept it.

That's a very ambiguous explanation to say the least. If the whistle does not determine when the play is dead then how subjective would thousands of plays from pretty much every game in CFB history be?

I'm sure you would be saying the same shite had Knile broke free and housed it right? The entire crew was awful in this game. The hold on Mingo was as bad as I've ever seen.

They showed the ref at the bottom of the screen blowing his whistle and dropping a flag. And tell me how the frick you justify the Mingo hold, hit and Reid fumble? This crew was fricking awful.

Another game where Mingo and Sam were held the entire game. Wilson would be on a stretcher I ur oLine wouldn't have held.

Did you even read the past several posts? Nobody is saying the refs were good today. In fact, they called a very shitty game. No clue why the SEC can't get competent officials. But don't act like it didn't happen on both sides today.
