Welcome brand new poster bblount69. You wasted no time starting a very provocative thread that will no doubt lead to a huge argument.

List is as good as any these days. Each team has more challenges with roster management than ever before.

I think I would have Oregon ahead of OSU preseason. I think I like their overall returning group more than OSUs a bit, and i think they should be ahead of Indiana (which is kind of funny since Indiana destroyed them in the semis).

I think I would have it something like:

Oregon
Texas
OSU
MIami
ND
UGA
Indiana

But again your list is reasonable

Good post and list. I think at least 3 of the top 10 will not be there at the end of the season. Lots of new faces in new places. Which 3 I can't say. I don't think Indiana will be in the top 10 though.

FTR, I hope OSU crashes and burns.

this line of thinking, especially in the portal era, is bullshite.

What a team did in 2025 has absolutely zero bearing on where they should be in 2026. It's an entirely new team with likely half of its roster being brand new as well.

Almost like using the schedule as a determining factor of where you rank a team in the preseason. Absolutely useless information.

Eta: By that logic, LSU should not be in the top 25 based on last year. Here LSU is 9.

Missouri isn't going to be ranked at the end of the season. I am picking the team to go 6-6 or 5-7 this coming season.

I think your offense will be even better than last year with Sayin probably winning the Heisman and your defense wont hardly decline from last year

We are not the number 1 team in the country. The offensive line will be the achilles heel again and will make it hard to match up against other top 5 teams. Ryan Day turned Ohio State into those early-mid 2010s Oregon teams who could put up flashy stats in the regular season and then collapse in the postseason when facing teams with elite offensive and defensive lines.

Would have been sweet, no doubt. Likely won't happen this year. Maybe next year?

A post stating the sky is blue would turn into an argument here.

They got the portal QB I wanted had Trinidad not returned. Agree that anyone repeating in the modern era would be very difficult, especially since their team was built on a bunch of veteran seniors.

I'm a TBD on this long term. We did just bring an ex NFL HC in as OC, so hopefully that instills the toughness necessary.

OSU was a chip shot fg away from being tied with the team who won the title last season and lost to Miami by 10, but it was a pick 6 that was the real difference there. The offense was meh in both games, but had opportunities to win both
