And if he recruits very well then y’all will contend for titles. The East will get better and the SECCG will be much more entertaining. Here’s to some damn good WLOCP’s

I'm envious. Unlike most VOLS' fans on here I wanted him. I bet he kills it there.

I wanted y’all to get a good hire too, there’s still hope though.

Btw UF fans, how quickly will Mullen turn around UF? I’m guessing 8-4 his first year and 10-2 in 2019 after that I’d expect 9+ wins a season.

Agreed. I have said for years he is one of the best play callers in college and if he can recruit, along with UGA, the East should get back to being good and not a dumpster fire

I just need to see how well he can recruit. No doubt he can develop. Then again we are talking about the fan base who just fired a guy for winning the division 2 out of 3 years.

I now have two favorite teams...State and whomever is playing Florida.

depends on your definition of well. Well doesn't seem to be good enough at florida. I'm excited about our new opportunities. Mullen is a yankee and fits well in that state. Good for him.

If he recruits well in Florida, do you expect Merlins to make Kirby his bitch?

He brought y'all's trash asses to number 1 in the country

He'll do fine at a real program like florida.

Agreed. Better coach all around than Sharkie. Importantly, he brings an offensive philosophy that meshes with the Florida identity. I think his roster is a year or two behind what Georgia is putting together, but at the least he should stabilize the program and be less weird that macelwain, which is saying something, because he seems pretty weird

The one thing Mullen does have on his side is the administration, having worked with Stricklin at MSU.

If UF with Mullen can keep up in recruiting with Kirby at UGA then the rest of the SEC is fricked. Recruiting is the question mark with Mullen. Coaching and development is not.

Hell, I am super excited not to watch a complete shitshow at QB next year.

His early days at the podium are most important. He and his wife didn't have much to say about UF that was kind. I suspect he's going to be called out on that. If he doesn't give some really good answers, he will divide that fanbase even more.

Will he be calling the plays or will he have an offensive coordinator at Florida? The way his butthole puckered under the limited pressure at State in tight situations, can't imagine how he'll handle the pressure of HC/play caller at UF.

Probably gonna take a while. The secondary is in good shape but the rest of the defense has fallen off considerably talent-wise. The offensive line returns a ton of experience but transitioning from the Mac/Nuss offense to Mullen's spread will be an adjustment. I'm about 99 percent sure now that the QB of the future is not currently on the roster. We have some good skill players but no reliable tight ends.

We played our last few games this year with scholly numbers in the 50s. Getting the warm body count up as soon as possible should be Mullen's first priority.
