Oktibbeha County Coroner Michael Hunt says Andrew Scott Demboski went into cardiac arrest and apparently died from head injuries following the fall at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. He and two other male students apparently climbed to the top of the huge video board and he slipped and fell from a wide sheet metal awning that spans the top of the device.

One of the worst nightmares for a parent: that our kids do even half the dumb things we did in college.

i think about this all the time with my two girls(4 and 6).

its amazing to me now that i left college without getting a STD, knocking a girl up, getting a DWI, or getting killed doing something similar to this.

it really does scare the shite out of me. kids are dumb and bulletproof and i was one of them

Damn, that sucks. What's crazy he only fell 18 feet. Too bad he couldn't adjust while falling to avoid landing on his head or we'd probably be talking about a kid with a broke leg.

Damn, climbing the jumbotron was a rite of passage when I was at State. I thought they had the thing locked up for the past couple of years.

Very sorry to see this. Prayers for the family and those affected. Terrible thing to have happen right before Mothers' Day.

I love the faux morality on this board. A kid died because he was a retard. I've seen half the people in this thread tell someone to kill themselves or die in a fire.

As I said, I feel for his friends and family. Sad for them.
