So all of AU's football players are finance, accounting and all other non "athletic" majors?

Probably because the have a higher acceptance vs. applied rate. not a lot of people apply to Ga Tech, that will will not likely get in nor enroll. unlike Duke where people apply because they think they can get in

You know my degree from Bama still got me a job and a decent living regardless of how it ranks compared to the other schools

Good point. Those not expecting to get into tech or unsure that they want to become engineers probably apply to UGA.

The scoring system is weighted toward smaller private schools. We're still the #1 public school in the Deep South on that list.

But it didn't give you any self security.
Relax, Leslie. Nobody said anything bad about your degree. I'm sure you're an awesome and successful person. And gosh darnit, people like you.

A girl at my highschool with a 12 on the act got into bama last year. She took it again and raised it, but not by that much. Also, when I applied to colleges in 2007, LSU was harder to get into than both Bama and Auburn.

I call shenanigans on LSU being so low. I have no delusions about our academic integrity, but there is no way we're so far below Tenn, Auburn, and Arkansas.
Raw acceptance rates are misleading and have always been misleading.
Somehow, though Auburn is supposedly not as "selective" according to the raw acceptance rate, the average ACT and GPA scores of Auburn's freshman class is always higher than Bama's. Weird, eh?

Calling total BS on this one.

Arkansas could have 30k students overnight if they became less selective.
I'm not surprised we turn so many away. 10% rule in Texas plus lottery scholarships have made applications boom the past few years.

a 12 means you're pretty much borderline retarded. no way that's true.

I wonder what LSU was ranked back when I was an incoming freshman. I know the ACT requirements have gone up 3-4 points since then.
I want to say it was a 20 in 2004 and is 23-24 now. Anybody should feel free to correct me.
Sounds about right. However, I don't get the point of it. The main reason requirements change is for the purpose of curtailing/adjusting enrollment numbers.

Auburn is harder to get into than Alabama and that's a fact
And in 2009 uga was more selective than Emory due to the recession.
