How can you be overhyped when you've spent half of your career in the SEC and the fans still don't know how to spell your name?

I dont know how, he exceeded expectations in both his years. He has made friends with the fan base.

Nobody really sticks out too bad but I would go with freeze or Napier. But Napier has sort of already been knocked down a bit bc of last year.

I actually think Napier deserves a little breathing room before the judgments come in on him. Florida was a mess last season and their schedule this season would be murder on good teams. I know LSU fans had been excited about him and also quick to jump on him at Florida but I think the judgment there was too quick given the mess.

The only thing Mullen was whispering to Tebow was whether to run left, right, or up the middle.

Mullen probably whispered to run up the middle every play and Tebow improvised and made him look much better than he really is at qb coaching.

But to me, Beamer and Heupel are really hyped much to begin with.

These coaches are drastically different in the path they took to HC.
Beamer- was a special teams coach. He is a career assistant and only got the chance he did due being privileged. If he wasn’t a Beamer, he wouldn’t have gotten the chance he did at USCjr.
Everything this man has gotten in college football is because of his name and name only. In 1995, Beamer chose to walk on as a wide receiver at Virginia Tech—where his father was head coach—over an offer of a partial scholarship from Division I-AA Charleston Southern.

HC record - 2001- present, 15-11, 7-9 SEC

Now let’s take a look at Heupel

Heupel- he has had to earn his way every step of the way from player to coach. Even when he was fricked over by the Stoop brothers, he still didn’t give up and improved to the point to where he is now and the best play caller in the country.

As a player he is a BCS National Champion, MVP on championship game, college football player of the year, Consensus All-American and Heisman runner up. Not bad for a kid from South Dakota with no name to back him. Unlike Beamer, Heuple never took lateral moves to other schools. Heupel climbed through the ranks and took promotions when he changed schools.

HC record- 47-16, 19-5 in AAC, and 10-6 SEC.

Heupel has had a top 10 offense every year when he had been the OC or the HC. Heupel is the real deal.

Beamer is a fraud…. Good thing for Beamer is, that’s he’s at a school where he can win 8 games every year and sprinkle in a 9 win season every few years and he will be fine. USCjr expectations are not high and 8 wins every year will meep that administration and fan base happy.

Why would you say he would get exposed? He has better talent than he has ever had and will actually run the offense better with the way he is recruiting. His offenses has worked and produced Heisman QB’s and NFL draft picks at QB and WR. Let’s take a look at what he’s done and for how long.

2011- OU- #5 Offense 512 yds game
2012- OU- #12 Offense 497yds game
2013- OU- #53 Offense, 423 yds game
2014- OU- #24 Offense, 465 yds game

2015- Utah St- #93 off, 370yds game

2016- Mizzou- #13 Off, 501yds game
2017- Mizzou-#8 Off, 502 yds game

2018- UCF- #5 Off, 522yds game
2019- UCF- #2 Off, 540yds game
2020- UCF- #2 Off, 568yds game

2021-UT- #7 Off, 475yds game
2022-UT- #1 Off, 527yds game

What’s to expose? He runs a very basic playbook. He schemes for a mismatch and uses tempo to expose a lack of depth.

To beat him you need a deep and talented front 7. You need to practice substitution drills and you need to be 3-4 deep with guys that are game ready.

The problem is that currently 1 team has had that.

There’ll always be a team or two or three in the SEC that has ‘that’

How did Beamer get the job in the first place? Daddy pull strings? His highest coaching position prior to HC in the SEC was what ? TE coach at OK?

It just seems like he’s overachieving on some lucky bounces. Maybe I’m just being a Rant troll and don’t know what I’m talking about

“If Saban retired in January I’d much rather go after Lane”

Hell no. Lane doesn’t even need to be interviewed when that job comes open.
