Considering LSU really only has three guys back from last year (and Gaines and Wilkerson were probably our best defenders last year), it’s not that shocking. Wade had offensive minded players last year, we were an offensive team. This year, we can’t really shoot, so we rely on athleticism and defense.

Net is punishing Bama for that double digit loss. That is one of the nuances of their equation.

I don't think scoring margin is included anymore (it used to be 10 pts).

No longer will the NET use winning percentage, adjusted winning percentage and scoring margin. The change was made after the committee consulted with Google Cloud Professional Services, which worked with the NCAA to develop the original NET.

Yea - it was removed in the May 2020 revamp.

I agree it doesn’t matter much. There are some other considerations like margin of victory and if it’s home or road. I’m confident that if a selection committee were putting together a bracket now, Alabama would be considered higher than Kentucky.

Now you have great defense but can't score.

What is the problem with this? Asking for Rick.

Does anyone have a tougher 3 game stretch than Bama in late Jan? #1 Baylor then Auburn and Kentucky all in a row.

Y'all are bipolar as hell. Last year LSU had great scorers and shitty defense. Now you have great defense but can't score.
Well we did lose our top shooter to a knee injury before the season even started.

That’s probably it. we are starting with a rough stretch, but some teams don’t look quite as good as the were perceived to be. @Aub, Kentucky, Tennessee, @florida, arky, @bama, @tennessee.

Thanks for posting these!

Not sure how to handle those positive points for AU basketball. Strange but fun times.

Thats right just Net Efficiency and Quad Wins/Losses. The Defensive Efficiency is the reason Alabama is not ranked higher. They have had the hardest schedule and it looks worse than it is because of schedule. If you look at Kenpom’s adjusted defense efficiency you can see they aren’t as bad on defense.
