They were expected to lose that game.

Sure, but it was still a blow out loss by a senior led team. They didn't "show up", it was cool guys we beat Indiana, nice career.

Who did Auburn lose to when they were a #1 seed?

I still say an embarrassing loss for Kentucky was the Duke 1992 loss. Allowing a length of the court pass and heave by laettner to win was embarrassing.
Bama losing South Alabama was bad, also kent state was bad.

I know.

Like I said, according to Playboy, as I believe they had them picked to make the final four/ title game.

I just remembered the MissStake worse loss: Butler in 2002. Brandon Miller (former SMS guy) torched them.

Ohio State.

Auburn's only bad loss in the NCAAT was in 84. Lost to 12 seed Richmond.

Does Butler recruit or are they a commuter school who takes only transfers?

It seems like every decent player that program has ever had is follow by transfer from:

I think Coppin St beat Carolina as a 3 seed. I thought Carolina won the SEC even.

They recruit, but they get a transfer every two years usually.

1997, that is their only NCAA win.

Sidney Moncrief and Joe Johnson both think you're an idiot btw.

Didn't Vandy lose to Richmond after winning the SECT? Then the next year lose to Murray, after being in Finals of SECT? It seems Stallings hasn't won a game in the NCAAT in ten years.

Todd Day was a better college player than Penny was. It was David Vaughn that killed Arkansas not Penny.

Irony is that if we wouldn't have tipped the inbounds pass, our guard would never have left Bryce Drew to chase the loose ball. Even then: the only guy who can beat you...how do you leave him and let him get open?

Didn't Arkansas play Memphis St. during the season?

I don't recall, but it isn't like Memphis was a "bad" team back then either, some real questions surrounded how Penny ended up at Memphis during recruiting as it appeared he was going to end up at another school up until the end, but that is well in the past now...

Only 6 times has a #15 seed upset the #2 seed, and one of those was Coppin State over Carolina in 1997.
Also, only 16 times has a #14 seed upset the #3 seed, and one of those was Richmond over Carolina in 1998.
I would have to say our loss to Coppin State is the worst SEC loss in NCAAT history.

Yes they did. Penny was coming to Arkansas they found mom a job in Ft Smith. All of a sudden she got a great job and a new home in Memphis. David Vaughn was legit though, his grandmother was a cleaning lady for a senator and she wasn't given anything.

None of that would've mattered if Ansu makes his free throws.
