Chris Capps, not really recent but IDAF. Anytime there's a worst/most disappointing player thread his name should always be mentioned.

I'm surprised it look a whole page, considering Capps actually did play quite a bit. Not sure if he was a big time recruit or anything tho...

I don't know how this can't be the consensus answer for LSU.

Agreed.

Taylor Bertolet.

13/22 field goals.
67/74 extra points.

#1 kicker in 2011 class.

Honorable Mention: Dustin Harris. He's either great or shitty, no middle ground with that guy.

The correct answer for A&M would be Reggie McNeal. He either was under-utilized by Fran, smoked himself lazy, or a combination of both, depending on who you're talking to.

Tyler Love. He got to play a lot of garbage time in blowouts so I decided to throw his name out there. 5* OT that never started a game if I recall.

I only really saw Jeff Fuller during his senior season and most of the time I was wishing he'd gone to the NFL a year early. He couldn't catch a cold that year.

Yeah have to agree with that one. I saw him all 4 years and he definitely went into a nose dive his Sr year.

I'm can't even be disappointed by Bertie now. Whenever he's kicking I just starting playing yakety sax in my head. It's become a very depressing comedy at this point.

From what I have heard from former players, both guys I have run into from time to time, and from interviews I have heard done/read; the biggest issue with the Fran era was his treatment of players. Favorites were coddled and lorded above all others while the rest were second hand citizens.

Have heard that Reggie went from normal guy, not really "nice" but not too much of an arse to being the biggest dickhead on the team.

Most disappointing Freshman this year has to be Shaq Roland

No way. I mean, yes, he put up low numbers, 5 catches for 80 yards with one TD, but we have a very deep WR corp. It was hard to work him into the rotation with guys like Bruce Ellington, Ace Sanders, Justice Cunningham, Rory Anderson, Nick Jones, and Damiere Byrd all getting a lot of playing time. I would say the most disappointing WR (and overall player) on our roster is by far Shamier Jeffery, Alshon's little brother.

Cayleb Jones was the #5 rated WR in the 2012 class and only had 2 catches for 35 yards.
What happened to Chris Black, the #8 rated WR for Alabama?
Durron Neal, #13 rated WR, had 5 catches for 75 yards, no TDs.

It seems like there could be way better examples of the most disappointing freshman.
ETA- including other positions of course

Jameon Lewis. Ran a TD on one of the very few kickoffs he didn't muff. This guy is WAY too elusive to drop passes and miss touches like he does.

How can Capps be the biggest disappointment when he was only around a 2 star recruit? Guy had no potential to be good enough to be considered disappointing

Was taking reps with the first team in fall camp before injury. He was cleared to play in the SEC Championship, but it was decided to leave him on the bench so he could redshirt.

Ugh. I tried to block that one out. I'm glad he stayed as he did catch Some balls, but whatever was wrong with him his Senior year he never got over.

Did he play any this year with the Dolphins?
