UT and Michigan both rip their fans off. Meanwhile Toledo is out there charging less than $7 a beer

truth is the numbers probably are more reflective of how quickly a beer can be bought. No Id lines and well staffed beer carts.....

I wonder how much tailgate culture plays a part
If you’re getting trashed before the game and even sneak in some shooters, how much are you gonna actually buy inside the stadium?
Probably not a major factor, just randomly thought about it.

Well, I do majority of my drinking at tailgate. I would maybe buy 2-4 beers max during the game. Most of the time just 2 to allow myself sober up in 2nd half. I’m not spending a lot of money on $10-12 pisslight beers. I know a lot of people sneak in their drinks. I did when I was younger but now the drinking at tailgate does more than enough for me.

This has nothing to do with football. Wisconsin has a drinking problem to the point where your first DUI is basically forgiven.

I'm extremely old. Old enough that when you walked into Bryant
Denny , the smell of bourbon wafted across the stadium, While not
a big problem to bring in a concealed flask or small bottle , I
took the next step forward in technology with a fake portable radio ,
complete with loaded flask inside.

In fairness I toowould need to drink heavily if I had to watch Wisconsin play every week.

Actually selling alcohol is rather new at their football games. Per Grok
Both started selling alcohol at their football games in twenty twenty-four. Michigan kicked it off August thirty-first against Fresno State, and Wisconsin the day before on August thirtieth versus Western Michigan. Finally catching up to the rest of the Big Ten!

Where I hail from the snow doesn't melt until April. You?

I’ve spent many years up there. Dayton wasn’t any different from what I saw down in parts of the South. Pawn shops, liquor stores and Baptist churches on most corners. Now I’m out near the Canadian border in Vermont. Snow don’t melt til June sometimes. But it’s quiet country living
